A big Reddit community for sharing hentai of “monster girls” is asking its moderator to ban AI-generated images from the subreddit. The moderator has so far refused, which led to the creation of a splinter monster girl community that is AI free.
r/MonsterGirl, a community of 642,000 members for “content relating to the Monster Girl genre of hentai, mostly NSFW Content” according to the description, appeared to have reached a boiling point over AI images late last week with a number of threads about the issue being voted to the top of the subreddit.
In one thread with more than 200 comments titled “Please Ban AI from this subreddit” members complained that there was a “flood” of AI spam accounts, some of which they claimed were bots, as well as other familiar criticism of AI-generated content suddenly taking over a space that was previously dedicated to human-made art.
