Cisco expanded an SSL VPN denial-of-service advisory to cover all ASA and FTD software platforms; unauthenticated attackers can exhaust device memory.

A vulnerability in the VPN and management web servers of Cisco ASA Software and Cisco Secure FTD Software allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust system memory or buffer blocks, causing a denial of service. Originally scoped to the ASAv and FTDv virtual appliances, Cisco updated the advisory on September 16, 2026 to cover all ASA and FTD platforms.

Microsoft: Windows Server 2025 changes causing app crashes

Microsoft warns Windows Server 2025 memory-management changes crash AWE apps, including SQL Server with Lock Pages in Memory; disable LPIM as workaround.

Microsoft confirmed a known issue where Windows Server 2025 memory-management changes cause access violations, memory corruption, or unexpected termination in applications using Address Windowing Extensions (AWE). SQL Server running with the Lock Pages in Memory (LPIM) policy is affected, with symptoms including 0xC0000005 access violations, DBCC CHECKDB failures, crash dumps, and services stopping or restarting unexpectedly. Microsoft's temporary workaround is to disable the LPIM policy for the SQL Server service account or disable AWE in other affected apps, with a permanent fix promised in a future Windows update.

USN-8748-1: Linux kernel (NVIDIA) vulnerabilities

Ubuntu released USN-8748-1 patching multiple Linux kernel (NVIDIA) vulnerabilities across networking, file system, and crypto subsystems.

Ubuntu issued security notice USN-8748-1 fixing several Linux kernel vulnerabilities affecting the NVIDIA Tegra memory controller driver, hardware crypto device drivers, and network drivers, among others. Affected subsystems include GFS2, OCFS2, and SMB file systems, B.A.T.M.A.N. meshing, Ceph, Netfilter, Open vSwitch, IPv4/IPv6, RxRPC, SCTP, and TIPC. An attacker could potentially exploit these flaws to compromise the system.

[Control Systems] National Instruments security advisory (AV26-856)

Canada's Cyber Centre relayed National Instruments advisories for memory corruption, out-of-bounds read, and out-of-bounds write flaws in LabVIEW versions.

The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security published control systems advisory AV26-856 covering National Instruments LabVIEW. Affected versions include releases before 23.0.0, 23.3.10, 24.3.7, 25.3.5, and 26.3.1. The flaws include memory corruption, an integer conversion out-of-bounds read, and an integer overflow out-of-bounds write. Users and administrators are urged to review the links and apply NI security updates.

USN-8726-1: Linux kernel vulnerabilities

Ubuntu issued kernel security update USN-8726-1 fixing an Arm TLB invalidation flaw (CVE-2025-10263) that enables local privilege escalation, plus other kernel fixes.

Ubuntu released USN-8726-1, a security update for the generic Linux kernel. It fixes CVE-2025-10263, where certain Arm processors complete broadcast TLB invalidation before related memory writes are globally observed, potentially letting local attackers bypass memory protections or escalate privileges. The update also addresses additional kernel flaws in ARM64, ARM32, RISC-V, S390 and other subsystems.

Chipmaker Patch Tuesday: Nvidia, AMD, Arm Issue Security Advisories

AMD, Arm, and Nvidia issued Patch Tuesday advisories fixing a Linux GPU driver DoS flaw, nine Mali GPU vulnerabilities, and two high-severity Triton defects.

AMD fixed CVE-2026-43603, a NULL pointer dereference in its Linux GPU kernel driver that can crash systems and cause denial-of-service, credited to SecMate researchers, with patches for EPYC, Ryzen, Radeon, and Instinct shipped in July and embedded variants due in October. Arm published an advisory covering nine Mali GPU vulnerabilities allowing use-after-free access, kernel information leaks, or DoS, releasing fixes for Valhall and 5th Gen GPU Architecture drivers, with Bifrost also affected. Nvidia updated Triton Inference Server for Linux to resolve two high-severity flaws, one causing DoS and one enabling information disclosure, data tampering, and DoS. Intel had issued no new advisories since the previous Patch Tuesday.

Wireshark 4.6.8 fixes 28 security bugs, including nine crash-prone capture file parsers, misdecoded 5G fields, and memory-safety issues.

Wireshark 4.6.8 fixes 28 security bugs spanning advisories wnpa-sec-2026-64 through wnpa-sec-2026-91, including nine crash bugs in file parsers such as pcapng, Endace ERF and Tektronix K12xx that trigger when opening capture files. Fixes cover dissectors for RDP, SSH, Kerberos, H.245, CMS, C12.22 and several Bluetooth protocols, plus unnumbered memory-safety issues like a stack buffer overflow in the K12/RF5 writer. The release also corrects eight misdecoded 5G NAS/5GSM fields and moves the Unix extcap path to /usr/libexec/wireshark/extcap.
