Meta Releases Muse, a Personal AI Agent With Privacy ‘Built Into It’

Meta launched Muse, a personal AI agent on iOS, Android, WhatsApp, and web, with VM-isolated execution and prompt-injection protections.

Meta released Muse, a personal AI agent from Meta Superintelligence Labs that automates tasks such as sending email, booking travel, and making purchases, accessible via a dedicated app, Muse.ai, and WhatsApp. The agent runs in a Secure VM architecture that isolates untrusted web and integration data from the action-taking component, with a Sentinel system that routes human-in-the-loop approval prompts directly to users to resist prompt injection. Purchases use Stripe's Link single-use card numbers with no-fee return protections, and a future Confidential VM co-developed with Moxie Marlinspike will run in trusted execution environments with user-held keys. Meta added Muse to its public bug bounty with payouts up to $300,000, including up to $130,000 for single-user prompt injection findings.

Anthropic's Enterprise Frontier Safeguards lets your Claude logs stay in your cloud

Anthropic launches Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, letting regulated customers keep Claude usage logs in their own cloud storage under their own keys with automated misuse detection.

Anthropic unveiled Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, co-designed with eight members of the Analysis and Resilience Center for Systemic Risk and more than 100 customers including Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Visa, Mastercard, Comcast, KPMG, and Salesforce. Misuse-detection activity data can live in the customer's Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, or Google Cloud Storage under customer-managed keys, with fully automated review and no human inspection by Anthropic; automated systems watch for offensive cyber or biological capability development and signs of stolen credentials. The offering replaces the friction around Fable 5's 30-day retention policy, costs nothing extra, spans Claude Enterprise, Claude Platform, Amazon Bedrock, Google's Agent Platform, and Microsoft Foundry, with broad availability targeted for later this fall.

OpenAI targets small utilities with $1 billion cyber defense initiative

OpenAI commits $1 billion to Daybreak for Frontline Defenders, subsidizing frontier cyber AI access and training for small utilities, governments, and critical infrastructure operators.

OpenAI President Greg Brockman announced Daybreak for Frontline Defenders, a $1 billion global commitment expanding subsidized access to Daybreak cyber models, training, and technical support. Daybreak for America will target small water and electricity providers, local governments, and banks, including a pilot with the MS-ISAC for state, local, tribal, and territorial defenders. The Daybreak Defense Network brings more than 35 enterprise partner products into the program, and attendees at OpenAI's utility summit represent 40 states serving over half the US population. Security experts welcomed the effort but cautioned that OT environments still need human-led implementation and testing before AI tooling can be safely rolled out.

[AINews] 10% worse, 100x cheaper, 10000x faster: Why Simulation is taking over

Latent Space argues AI training pipeline stages—rewards, data, teachers, curricula, environments—are flipping from human-made to model-made simulation.

Latent Space's AINews essay traces how each component of AI training has turned synthetic since 2022: reward models (InstructGPT, RLAIF), synthetic pretraining data (Microsoft Phi, NVIDIA Nemotron-4 340B), model teachers (Alpaca, DeepSeek-R1 distillation), and self-generated curricula (Self-Rewarding Language Models, SPIN). In 2026 it highlights Karpathy's autoresearch loop—700 experiments yielding 20 kept improvements, cutting GPT-2 training time from 2.02 to 1.80 hours—and Z.ai's GLM-5.3 fully synthetic RL environment, judging, and verification stack. It frames these shifts as 'simulation': 10% worse but 100x cheaper and 10,000x faster than human equivalents.
