CVE-2026-86218 | N-able N-central Pre-Authentication Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

N-able N-central pre-auth RCE CVE-2026-86218 (CVSS 10.0) is actively exploited; CISA added it to KEV and a hotfix is available.

CVE-2026-86218 is a critical pre-authentication remote code execution flaw (CWE-96 static code injection) in N-able N-central servers, scored 10.0 CVSS 4.0 by N-able and 9.8 CVSS 3.1 by NIST. N-able fixed it in N-central 2026.3 Hotfix 4 (build 2026.3.1.14) on September 5, 2026, and has already patched hosted NCOD environments. CISA added the CVE to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on September 8, 2026, citing evidence of active exploitation, though researchers have not attributed every reported N-central compromise to this flaw. Horizon3 released a NodeZero Rapid Response test to validate exposure and recommends log review for prior compromise.

Google Patches Pixel Modem Flaw Amid Signs of Limited Targeted Exploitation

Google's September Pixel update patches CVE-2026-58704, a high-severity cellular modem privilege escalation flaw showing signs of limited targeted exploitation.

Google disclosed CVE-2026-58704 (CVSS 8.0), a privilege escalation flaw in the Pixel Cellular Modem caused by a logic error permitting proximal/adjacent privilege escalation with no user interaction or extra privileges needed. Google acknowledged indications the flaw may be under limited, targeted exploitation but did not identify the threat actor. The September 2026 Pixel update fixes 109 additional flaws, including 46 critical-severity issues in components such as BigOcean, Bootloader, IMS, and Trusted Execution Environment, plus two high-severity kernel privilege escalation bugs (CVE-2026-56914, CVE-2026-58773). Security patch level 2026-09-05 or later resolves all identified flaws.

Hackers Exploit FortiGate SSL-VPN Vulnerability to Attack Broadband Provider

Exposed attacker staging server reveals intrusion of Thai broadband provider 3BB via actively exploited FortiGate SSL-VPN flaw CVE-2024-21762.

Hunt.io found an open directory on server 92.63.180[.]133 holding 298 files detailing an intrusion into Triple T Broadband's 3BB brand, starting from a FortiGate 60F SSL-VPN at mail.3bb.co[.]th:10443. The actor weaponized CVE-2024-21762 (CVSS 9.8, KEV-listed since February 2024) using heap spraying and a ROP chain to gain a reverse shell. Post-exploitation included MeshCentral root-level persistence via www.ayuthayatech[.]com, Dirty COW/PwnKit privilege escalation, credential harvesting, SSH spraying against 55+ internal addresses, and log-deleting cleanup scripts; a stolen OpenVPN certificate and key from Triple T's PKI may still be valid.
