ZDI-26-708: (0Day) Microsoft Windows HTTP Proxy Privilege Escalation Vulnerability

ZDI disclosed an unpatched local privilege escalation flaw (CVSS 5.3) in Microsoft Windows HTTP Proxy, requiring prior low-privileged code execution.

ZDI-26-708 details a privilege escalation vulnerability in the Microsoft Windows HTTP Proxy component. CVE-2026-73191: Apache Syncope: CAS service URL injection via Forwarded HTTP headers

Apache Syncope SRA CVE-2026-73191 enables CAS service URL injection via Forwarded HTTP headers.

Apache Syncope disclosed CVE-2026-73191, a moderate-rated open redirect vulnerability in the Syncope SRA. When the SRA is configured for CAS authentication, the target Apereo CAS service URL can be manipulated through Forwarded HTTP headers, redirecting users to an untrusted site. The flaw affects syncope-sra in versions 3.0.0-M0 through 3.0.16, 4.0.0-M0 through 4.0.7, and 4.1.0-M0 through 4.1.2. Users should upgrade to fixed releases.

CVE-2026-70469: Apache NiFi: Improper Handling of Case Sensitivity for Content-Encoding in HTTP Requests

Apache NiFi CVE-2026-70469: duplicate or non-standard Content-Encoding headers bypass gzip request filtering in NiFi 2.11.0's REST API.

Apache NiFi disclosed CVE-2026-70469, rated High, affecting the Jetty-based REST API module (org.apache.nifi:nifi-jetty) in version 2.11.0. NiFi 2.11.0 disabled gzip-encoded HTTP requests and rejects those carrying the standard Content-Encoding header, but the framework enforcement filter fails to check multiple instances of the header and does not reject non-standard gzip identifiers, allowing crafted requests to evade the check. The disclosure was posted to oss-security by David Handermann.

CVE-2026-82438: Apache Storm Webapp: Authenticated API Responses Exposed to Arbitrary Web Origins

Three CORS misconfigurations in Apache Storm 3.0.0 let malicious web pages from arbitrary origins read authenticated API responses.

CVE-2026-82438 (severity: important) affects Apache Storm Webapp (storm-webapp) versions 3.0.0 before 3.1.0. Three separate mechanisms allowed a web page on an unrelated origin to read responses served to authenticated users, including the Logviewer reflecting the request's Origin header in Access-Control-Allow-Origin while also sending Access-Control-Allow-Credentials. This enables a malicious site to silently exfiltrate authenticated Storm API and log data from a victim's browser session.

GitLab’s critical flaw is already drawing internet-wide probes

GitLab patches two critical flaws (CVE-2026-85706 CVSS 10.0, CVE-2026-87719) as WatchTowr observes internet-wide probing of the unauthenticated file-read bug.

GitLab released emergency patches for two high-severity flaws in Community and Enterprise Editions, urging self-managed operators to upgrade immediately while saying its hosted and Dedicated offerings are fixed or unaffected. CVE-2026-85706 (CVSS 10.0) is a path traversal in the repository commits interface that lets unauthenticated attackers read any file on the server and affects releases 18.7 through 19.1.8 plus the 19.2 and 19.3 lines before patching. CVE-2026-87719 (CVSS 9.9, Enterprise Edition only) lets a logged-in Duo Chat user hide a command in a request that triggers Advanced Search settings and password disclosure. WatchTowr Labs reported it is already watching probes that can trigger the path traversal flaw in a single HTTP request, though CISA had not added either issue to the KEV list as of Friday afternoon.
