GnuPG's Werner Koch says gpg.fail samples only crash GnuPG via DER-as-printf format string in --debug x509; RCE claim remains unproven.

Werner Koch replied to the gpg.fail retrospective, noting that GnuPG versions above 2.2 produce garbled stderr or crash when the project's certificates are used with --debug x509 because DER data is passed as a printf format string. Testing the certificates from the researchers' Git repo yielded only a segfault, not demonstrated code execution. Koch states how remote code execution would be achieved is unclear and asks for a real reproducer.

A new GNU C Library advisory (GLIBC-SA-2026-0016) describes a stack overflow in the nscd service caused by unbounded alloca use. glibc 2.3.4 and newer may crash when a malicious DNS server returns an oversized response, resulting in degraded DNS resolution. Exploitation requires nscd to be enabled and the system to be using an untrusted DNS server. The advisory was posted to oss-security by glibc maintainer Siddhesh Poyarekar.

CERT/CC published VU#369611 for CVE-2026-84286, an out-of-bounds memory access in the exllamav3_ext CUDA extension of the ExLlamaV3 LLM inference library. A crafted input with kernel parameter K set to 0 produces a negative index into a fixed 24-entry kernel dispatch array, causing a CUDA illegal memory access and denial-of-service crashes. The vendor fixed the issue in the main repository via pull request #310, and maintainers of 49 downstream projects, including ezexl3 and MawDiscord, are advised to rebuild against the patched version. The issue was reported by Nathan Keys and impact is limited to crashes and instability, not code execution.
