Why APAC Enterprises Need Real-Time Threat Intelligence as Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand Tighten Cyber Compliance in 2026

Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand all tightened cyber compliance in 2026, mandating continuous monitoring and rapid incident reporting for critical infrastructure.

Singapore's CSA issued the Cybersecurity Code of Practice 2026 for Critical Information Infrastructure on 29 July 2026, adding board cyber-resilience duties, annual training, and controls on Interconnected Systems, with most obligations effective by 29 July 2027. Malaysia's Cyber Security Act 2024 requires NACSA-licensed providers, audits, and fast incident notification, with fines up to RM500,000 and up to ten years' imprisonment. Thailand's NCSA cloud security standard has been enforced since 10 September 2026, with a Website Security Standard effective 16 September 2026. The vendor article argues detection speed has become a compliance metric driving demand for real-time threat intelligence.

Riverbed NPM 360 uses AI to predict and prevent network disruptions

Riverbed launched Network 360 observability offerings embedding agentic AI (Riverbed IQ and Q) into AppResponse and NetProfiler for predictive network troubleshooting.

Riverbed announced its Network 360 intelligent network observability solutions, natively integrating the agentic AI layers Riverbed IQ and Riverbed Q into AppResponse and NetProfiler, with NPM+ extending visibility across remote users, Zero Trust, and public cloud. Riverbed IQ applies causal, predictive, generative, and agentic AI to correlate network evidence, identify root causes, and recommend actions, while Q provides a natural-language conversational assistant for investigations. The launch aims to shift NetOps teams from manual, reactive troubleshooting to AI-guided workflows that predict and prevent disruptions before user impact.

Most Fraudulent Hires Receive Credentials Before Detection

HYPR report finds 42% of fraudulent hires pass screening and receive corporate credentials, averaging 5.73 days of unmonitored network access before detection.

A HYPR study of 500 US HR executives found 42% of fraudulent candidates pass pre-hire screening and get hired, with only 3% detected on their hire day and 20% remaining undetected up to three weeks. This gives fraudulent hires an average of 5.73 days of unmonitored corporate network access, and 98% of surveyed executives said they had experienced candidate fraud firsthand. The report follows a September 9 CISA update to its Insider Threat Mitigation Guide warning that malicious actors use AI tools to obtain remote IT jobs, a tactic long used by North Korean actors for data theft and extortion.

Hackers Exploit Marimo RCE to Steal AWS Credentials and Reach Bastion Host in 8 Seconds

Attackers exploited pre-auth RCE CVE-2026-39987 in Marimo notebooks to steal AWS credentials and SSH into a bastion host in eight seconds.

Sysdig Threat Research Team documented an intrusion abusing CVE-2026-39987, an unauthenticated RCE in Marimo's terminal WebSocket endpoint affecting versions up to 0.20.4 and fixed in 0.23.0. The attacker harvested AWS credentials from the host environment and Redis backend, queried AWS Secrets Manager to retrieve an SSH private key, and authenticated to an internet-facing SSH bastion host just eight seconds after opening the WebSocket session. Human-operated custom tooling, not an AI agent, executed the full exploit-to-lateral-movement chain.

Your employees are already using AI tools you never approved

OneTrust report: 74% of organizations have scaled AI adoption, but only 17% embed governance by design and agent use outpaces oversight.

OneTrust's 2026 AI-Ready Governance Report finds 74% of respondents report departmental or scaled AI adoption, yet only 17% report governance embedded by design and just 5% have coordination and accountability defined across the AI lifecycle. Nearly half experienced at least one incident in the past year where AI systems or agents took unapproved actions, with data loss, corruption, and misclassification cited as the most likely and least prepared-for risks. 33% say employees used unapproved AI tools because approved options were not available quickly enough, and 98% plan to increase AI governance technology budgets next financial year.
