A Global Readiness and Sovereignty Capability Model for Post-Quantum Cryptography Migration

Researchers propose a Readiness-Sovereignty Capability Model scoring 57 countries on post-quantum cryptography readiness and sovereignty.

The RSCM model decomposes cryptographic sovereignty into indigenous capacity, indigenous post-quantum control, and external dependency, with a gate requiring demonstrated creation in at least one core layer. Applied to 57 documented cryptographic actors, 20 countries clear the maker gate (15 full-stack, 5 research makers), 11 hold strong general capacity without post-quantum control, and 25 are dependent. Readiness correlates with independent cyber indices up to rank correlation 0.70, while post-quantum creation shows no significant correlation with commitment (0.22).

Iceland-based Treble raises $18 million for its voice simulation platform

Iceland-based startup Treble raised an $18 million Series A extension to expand its acoustic simulation and synthetic data platform for voice AI companies.

Treble, founded in 2020 by acoustic engineers Finnur Pind and Jesper Pedersen, raised $18 million in a Series A extension led by Paladin Capital Group, bringing total funding above $40 million. The company builds physics-based acoustic simulation for synthetic speech data generation, voice AI model evaluation, and virtual prototyping of headphones, speakers, and smart glasses. Customers include Amazon and Logitech, and it partnered with Hugging Face earlier this year on a benchmark for speech recognition models under realistic conditions.

Hiscox's 2026 survey of 6,800 security leaders found 29% of organizations hit by successful attacks averaging $52,000 in costs and 32.8 hours of downtime.

The Hiscox Cyber Readiness Report 2026, based on a survey of 6,800 security decision-makers across the UK, Europe, and US, found 29% of organizations suffered at least one successful cyber-attack in the past 12 months, averaging four incidents per victim. UK firms were most attacked at 38% while US firms were least at 20%; average incident cost was $52,000 globally, peaking at $134,138 in Italy, with 32.8 hours of average downtime. Impacts included growth delays (32%), financial penalties (28%), and burnout or toxic culture (69%). Businesses invest about $51,000 annually in resilience, and 32% now tie executive compensation to cybersecurity outcomes.
