When scanners miss the attack: how Cloudflare Client-Side Security protects storefronts

Cloudflare's Page Shield ML uncovered four malicious JavaScript campaigns on storefronts, including affiliate fraud and a remote-backdoor script, that VirusTotal and URLScan missed.

Cloudflare's Page Shield ML detected four client-side JavaScript operations (eight payloads) in live traffic on online storefronts, enabling affiliate commission hijacking, clickless affiliate theft via hidden iframes, user tracking with a remote-code backdoor, and cloaking of paid mobile visitors. Seven of the eight payloads were absent from VirusTotal and URLScan returned no malicious verdict for any, including a Lnkr-family payload indexed unclassified for roughly 2.5 years. Detection relies on a graph neural network over JavaScript syntax trees, an LLM second opinion on Workers AI, and a frontier-model ensemble voting across benign, magecart, other malware, and cryptomining labels.

[AINews] Jev: a “System One Model” that only decides/classifies/routes/scores — >100x faster, >200x cheaper than small frontier LLMs

TypeSafe launches Jev, an RLCD-trained decision model claiming 20-200x faster, 40-400x cheaper classification than frontier LLMs, alongside Gemini 3.8 Live and Neon.

TypeSafe's Jev is a 'System One' decision model trained with RLCD, claiming 20-200x faster and 40-400x cheaper classification and routing than frontier LLMs with free output tokens and no hallucinated text. Google launched Gemini 3.8 Live and 3.8 Live Extended Thinking, supporting 97 languages and async tool calls, debuting #1 on Artificial Analysis' speech-to-speech index at 82.6. Periodic Labs' Neon is a ~1T-parameter XRD analysis model trained with RL on proprietary lab data using 1,300 H200s, lifting FrontierXRD success from 2.7% to 55.3% and beating GPT-6 Astra at lower inference cost.

Nums AI Releases Causilo: A Tabular Foundation Model That Tops TabArena Among Single Models

Nums AI released Causilo, an Apache-2.0 tabular foundation model achieving the highest single-model Elo (1794) on TabArena for classification and regression.

Nums AI released Causilo 1.0.1, a pretrained in-context learning tabular foundation model for classification (up to 10 classes) and regression, with Apache-2.0 code and research-only weights on Hugging Face. It achieved the highest single-model TabArena Elo of 1792.9 overall, beating TabFM (1764.4) and EXAONE Tabular (1758.8), and a maintainer re-run placed it 3rd of 88 including system entries. It also ranked first by CRPS, R² and RMSE on ScoringBench across 101 datasets, and was fastest on fit and predict versus TabICLv2 and TabPFN-3 on an H100 GPU at 8.15 GiB memory. The model was pretrained only on synthetic data, uses cross-attention to keep cost linear in feature count, and version 1.0.1 adds quantile outputs via 999 native quantiles.

Knowledgator Releases GLiFormer: A 575M-Parameter Encoder That Hits 91.10 F1 on Nested JSON Extraction Without Generating Tokens

Knowledgator released GLiFormer, an Apache-2.0 encoder (264M/575M) handling NER, classification, relations, and nested JSON extraction, scoring 91.10 F1.

Knowledgator Engineering released GLiFormer, a schema-conditioned encoder that performs NER, classification, relation extraction, nested JSON structuring, and embeddings without generating output tokens. GLiFormer Large v1 has 575.6M parameters and scores 91.10 F1 on nested JSON extraction, close to GPT-5.6-luna's 91.96; both checkpoints are Apache 2.0 on Hugging Face. Reported median latency is 69 ms on GPU for the base model, though relation extraction (21.33 micro-F1) still trails GLiNER-Relex and larger LLMs.

Top 10 Best Cloud Detection & Response (CDR) Solutions in 2026

Editorial scorecard ranks ten 2026 cloud detection and response platforms; Sysdig, Wiz, and CrowdStrike lead, with Wiz's Gem Security acquisition highlighted.

The editorial scorecard rates ten CDR platforms on real-time detection (30%), cloud telemetry depth, response automation, correlation, and value. Sysdig earns the best real-time detection score for its Falco- and eBPF-powered runtime telemetry, Wiz (8.7) folds acquired Gem Security's real-time CDR into its security graph, and CrowdStrike (8.7) leads response automation. Specialists Stream.Security, Skyhawk Security, Sweet Security, and the open-source Falco project are also assessed.

Prior Labs Releases TabPFN-3.5: A Tabular Foundation Model That Beats the Winning Otto Kaggle Solution With Default Settings

Prior Labs releases TabPFN-3.5, a 220M-parameter open-weights tabular foundation model that beats the 2015 Otto Kaggle winning score with default settings.

Prior Labs released TabPFN-3.5, a tabular foundation model that predicts in a single forward pass without per-dataset training or tuning. The base model grew from 53M to 220M parameters with a single multitask checkpoint, learned Fourier features, and in-context ECDF rank encodings. It scores 0.375 on the 2015 Otto Kaggle private leaderboard versus the winning 0.382 and claims first place on seven tabular benchmarks including TabArena and BeyondArena. Open weights cover the base, Fast (84M), and Thinking variants, but production use requires the Prior Labs API or a commercial license.

Stanford Researchers Release Paper2Agent: Turning Research Papers Into AI Agents That Reproduce Results and Run on New Datanew

Stanford researchers released Paper2Agent, a Nature-published pipeline that turns research papers into MCP servers agents can execute.

A Stanford team led by Jiacheng Miao and James Zou published Paper2Agent in Nature on 16 September 2026. Built on Claude Code's agent SDK, it converts a paper and its codebase into a Model Context Protocol server with validated tools, resources, and prompts. In benchmarks, the AlphaGenome agent built 22 tools in about 45 minutes for US$14, scored 100% on 15 novel queries versus 78.7% for Claude Code with repository access, and cut median runtime 1.9x. In scale tests, 74 of 100 bioRxiv papers were converted and 593 of 599 proposed tools passed validation.
