DeepSeek v4.1 Flash Is Now Our Best Hacking Model

DeepSeek V4.1 Flash achieves 11/11 code executions on Enclave's AI hacking benchmark for $4.65 across Grafana, Jenkins, and Nextcloud targets.

Enclave AI reports DeepSeek V4.1 Flash gained code execution on all 11 vulnerable targets while all four fixed controls held, costing $4.65 accepted ($5.14 total) with 268.3 million mostly cached input tokens. A path-level audit found six runs used the planned weaknesses, such as Jenkins credential-file abuse and a Nextcloud access-control confusion, while five runs exploited alternate routes in the Grafana and Jenkins test environments. The benchmark was hardened to check attack paths, not just outcomes, underscoring that hacking agents find the fastest exploitable route.

Plug 'n' Pray: Agentic LLM-based Detection of Potential Log File Exposures in Third-Party Content Management System Plugins

Agentic LLM analysis validates 79 log file exposures across 62 of the 300 most-installed WordPress plugins, covering 250M+ active installations.

Researchers built an agentic LLM-based framework combining static and dynamic analysis to automatically detect insecure log files created by WordPress plugins. Scanning the 300 most-installed plugins, which account for roughly 75% of all active installations in the official ecosystem, it produced 81 findings with 79 manually reproduced across 62 plugins. Insufficiently secured log files can disclose credentials and personal data and have led to website compromises. The authors derive a taxonomy of log path and protection patterns and best practices, finding multi-layered protection often absent.

Mass Scanning Targets Exposed Vite Servers to Steal AWS Keys and Azure Tokens

Attackers mass-scanned exposed Vite dev servers exploiting CVE-2026-39364 to read .env files and steal AWS keys and Azure tokens, per F5 Labs honeynet data.

Honeynet telemetry recorded 807 session-grouped attacks and roughly 32,000 raw events in August 2026 against exposed Vite development servers. CVE-2026-39364 (CVSS 7.5) is an unauthenticated file-read flaw in Vite 7.1.0 through 7.3.2 and 8.0.5 that bypasses server.fs.deny via query parameters like ?raw and ?import&raw to return files in plaintext. Attackers also probed older Vite flaws CVE-2025-30208, CVE-2025-31125, and CVE-2024-45811, and used wordlists to locate .env files, AWS credential files, Azure token stores, and Terraform state across Linux, container, and web paths. Exposed secrets could enable lateral movement or full cloud account takeover.
