The paper evaluates a verifier-and-acceptance stage in an LLM-orchestrated offensive-security agent via a pre-registered 20-run confirmatory ablation and a 2x2 factorial study with 40 runs on vulnerable lab targets. Removing the stage eliminated pre-report suppression (median 2 vs 0 findings, p = 0.00003) but reduced model-blinded shipped precision (0.471 vs 0.353, p = 0.0087). Suppression was attributed to the model verifier rather than deterministic acceptance rules, and an instrumented canary recorded zero external contacts in all 60 runs. The full design retained 93.8% of model-adjudicated true candidates but failed its pre-registered non-inferiority floor of 0.90.

Google’s AI security agents found 100+ critical software vulnerabilities in just two days

Proofpoint SOC Analyst Agent Uses OpenAI Cyber Models

Proofpoint launched its SOC Analyst Agent in private preview, using OpenAI Daybreak models to automate security investigations with human-controlled remediation, GA expected end of Q3 2026.

The SOC Analyst Agent uses OpenAI Daybreak cyber models to enable natural-language investigations across Proofpoint alerts, logs, DLP events and user risk signals, and to automate recurring threat hunts, data security investigations and escalation reporting. It is currently in private preview with general availability expected by the end of Q3 2026, and it does not independently make account changes or take remediation actions. Proofpoint joined the OpenAI Daybreak Defense Network in June 2026 and is exploring additional uses for the models in threat research, data security and AI security workflows.

AIR, founded by Unit 8200 veterans Yair Saban and Niv Hoffman, raised $10 million led by Sequoia and $40 million led by Greenoaks to secure the emerging AI agent software supply chain. Its platform discovers agents in enterprise environments, intercepts their actions, and continuously vets skills, add-ons, and MCP servers against a maintained whitelist, filtering out about 27% of found add-ons. The company claims over 20 customers, roughly a quarter large enterprises, with strong demand in financial services and pharma, and competes with Noma Security, Zenity, Astrix Security, and Operant AI.
