3D Point Splatting for mmWave Radar Novel View Synthesis

Researchers propose 3DPS, a differentiable point renderer for mmWave radar novel view synthesis that outperforms optical-NVS baselines by 1.7x-5.2x.

The paper introduces 3D Point Splatting (3DPS), the first differentiable point renderer for radar, derived from the solid-angle form of the radar equation with ITU-R P.2040 material models and complex phasor splatting. On six outdoor ColoRadar scenes it reaches 0.587 mean Pearson correlation on held-out range-azimuth images, between 1.7x and 5.2x the RadarSplat, Radar Fields, and DART baselines. The same optimized scene produces ADC, complex range profile, and RA outputs via standard FFT pipelines, and training takes about 3 minutes per scene on an RTX 4090.

Canonical Color as a Lens into Concept Decodability in Vision Encoders and VLMs

Probing study shows vision encoders make canonical color linearly decodable from grayscale images and tie it to object identity.

Researchers use canonical color as a controlled testbed for measuring conceptual (not just visible) information in vision encoder representations. A dataset of objects with canonical colors was built, and probes on both color and grayscale images show canonical color remains decodable even when color is removed from the input, linked to predicted object identity. Extending to full VLMs, they find post-training has a surprisingly large effect on color decodability in the vision encoder.

RelightFormer: Feed-forward Generative Transformer for Multiview Object Relighting

RelightFormer is a feed-forward generative transformer for photorealistic single- and multi-view object relighting, trained on a 90K-object dataset.

Researchers introduce RelightFormer, a feed-forward generative transformer adapted from a video foundation model that performs direct image relighting without explicit intrinsic property estimation. The architecture injects target environment maps via a latent illumination module with cross-attention and uses permutation-invariant positional encodings for unordered multi-view inputs. Training relies on the newly constructed Laval Objaverse Dataset (LOD) with 90K objects and 39K unique illuminations, and the model shows state-of-the-art quality with strong zero-shot generalization across single-view, multi-view, and novel-view relighting.

LLaDA-UI: Bringing Block-wise Diffusion to Vision-Language GUI Agents

LLaDA-UI, a 16.7B block-wise diffusion vision-language GUI agent, outperforms Qwen2.5-VL-7B and beats Qwen3-VL-8B on four of six GUI benchmarks.

LLaDA-UI is a 16.7B-parameter MoE-based, block-wise diffusion vision-language GUI agent built on the LLaDA2.0-mini-base diffusion language backbone with a native-resolution vision encoder. It uses a two-stage pipeline: general multimodal pre-training followed by GUI-agent supervised fine-tuning on mobile, desktop, web, and grounding data. It substantially outperforms Qwen2.5-VL-7B and surpasses Qwen3-VL-8B on four of six reported GUI benchmarks, establishing block-wise diffusion as a practical paradigm for latency-sensitive multimodal agents.

RenderFormer-V2: Neural Rendering with Heterogeneous Scene Primitives

RenderFormer-V2 is a transformer-based neural renderer handling caustics, volumetric scattering and out-of-distribution materials without per-scene training or specialized code.

RenderFormer-V2 is a learned transformer-based neural rendering model that models global light transport as a sequence-to-sequence transformation, handling caustics, volumetric scattering, environment lighting, textured and displaced surfaces and out-of-distribution materials. It uses a two-stage process: a view-independent stage resolving primitive-to-primitive transport, and a view-dependent stage converting the neural scene representation into pixels. Improvements include combined windowed-attention with a rendering-informed attention sink for scalability, support for heterogeneous primitives like environment maps and participating media, and a surface-reflectance-independent neural material encoding, validated across diverse scenes with extensive ablations.

27.5KB language-agnostic WebGPU syntax highlighter

A developer released gpu-lexer, a 27.5KB language-agnostic syntax highlighter that uses a tiny WebGPU model to label code tokens in the browser.

gpu-lexer splits source into words, whitespace, and symbols, then a small WebGPU model uses local and whole-file context to assign nine token classes, working on languages never seen in training. On held-out files, 12.57% of token labels differ from Shiki, though this measures agreement with Shiki rather than objective correctness. In benchmarks against Shiki 4.4.3, Prism.js, Highlight.js, Sugar High, and Starry Night, it highlighted 10 concatenated copies of three.min.js (5.56M characters) about 10x faster on an Apple M4 Pro in Chrome 152. The author frames it as an experiment, not a grammar-equivalent highlighter.

Mi-Ripple: Restoring Images Degraded by Iterative AI Editing

Mi-Ripple is a diagnosis-guided restoration workflow that removes digital ripple artifacts introduced by iterative AI image editing while preserving structure.

Iterative reference-conditioned image editing can introduce grid-like and granular textures known as digital ripple. Mi-Ripple separates periodic lattice artifacts from content-entangled granular texture, then applies selective spectral notching, structure-aware smoothing, and cleaned-reference regeneration. In fourteen notch-only executions, whole-image residual standard deviation was 0.08-0.44 in CIELAB lightness units, and reference cleaning reduced output debris density by 45% in a paired example.

A Princeton Researcher Proposes Recurrent Looped Transformer (RLT) that Carries Decoder State across Every Token, Fixing 96 Blocks per Token with Unbounded Temporal Depth

Princeton researcher Yifan Zhang proposes Recurrent Looped Transformer, carrying full decoder state across every token for unbounded temporal depth.

Yifan Zhang's technical report defines the Recurrent Looped Transformer (RLT), pairing a causal encoder with a recurrent decoder whose final output and layerwise sliding-window attention cache carry into every subsequent token with no prompt-response boundary reset. The reference configuration ties 48 encoder and 48 decoder layers, executing 96 logical blocks per token while the state path grows to 48t blocks after t tokens at fixed per-token compute. The report details RL replay contracts that rebuild all states under current parameters and exact prefix snapshots for multi-turn serving, but explicitly reports no measured efficiency, reasoning quality, or scaling results.

AdaptVPR: Route-Aware Hard Positive Generation for Robust Visual Place Recognition

AdaptVPR generates route-aware synthetic hard positives for visual place recognition, releasing the 160K-image AdaptCities dataset with R@1 gains up to 9.2% under domain shift.

AdaptVPR is a generative augmentation framework that creates same-place hard positives under illumination, weather, seasonal, and dynamic-occlusion shifts for robust visual place recognition training. A vision-language model parses scene attributes and estimates editability, while a rule-based scheduler routes generation through global appearance, local occlusion, or dual perturbation routes with geometric-consistency verification. The resulting AdaptCities dataset contains 160K verified synthetic hard positives, and experiments show R@1 gains up to 9.2% across VPR baselines and backbones. VDiff-Bench: A Challenging Benchmark for Fine-Grained Image Difference Identification

VDiff-Bench, a 1,756-question benchmark, shows multimodal LLMs struggle with fine-grained image-difference identification, scoring as low as 8.7% on low-level changes.

VDiff-Bench is a multiple-choice benchmark of 1,756 four-way questions over image pairs covering 10 change categories including position, motion, color, texture, OCR/text and illumination, with curated hard negatives. Notably, Grok 4.3 shows a sharp performance drop on noise and texture differences, falling behind large open-source models like Kimi K2.5 and K3.
