Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center Software Authentication Bypass Vulnerability

Cisco warns of a critical authentication bypass in Secure Firewall Management Center that lets unauthenticated attackers execute scripts and obtain root access.

A vulnerability in the web interface of Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) Software allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass authentication and execute script files on an affected device to obtain root access to the underlying operating system. The flaw stems from an improper system process created at boot time and is triggered via crafted HTTP requests. If the FMC management interface does not have public internet access, the attack surface is limited.

cPanel ConfigServer Security & Firewall Vulnerability Allows Remote Attacker to Execute Arbitrary Commands

CSF 14.00–16.29 (CVE-2026-65638) lets unauthenticated attackers execute arbitrary commands via the MESSENGER service on cPanel/WHM servers; version 16.30 fixes it.

CVE-2026-65638 affects ConfigServer Security & Firewall (CSF) versions 14.00 through 16.29 and allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through the MESSENGER service, running under the unprivileged CSF service account rather than root. Exploitation requires the non-default MESSENGER service to be enabled and a reCAPTCHA secret configured, reducing exposure for standard deployments. CSF 16.30 and later fix the flaw; administrators who cannot update immediately can set MESSENGER = 0 in /etc/csf/csf.conf as a temporary mitigation.

Dell Secure Connect Gateway Critical Flaws Allow Unauthenticated Remote Code Execution and Admin Access

Dell patched three critical Secure Connect Gateway flaws (CVE-2026-80172 up to CVSS 9.8) enabling unauthenticated admin access, remote code execution, and host takeover.

Dell Security Advisory DSA-2026-382 fixes three critical vulnerabilities in Secure Connect Gateway (SCG) 5.0, affecting appliances earlier than 5.36.00.16 and applications earlier than 5.36.00.00. CVE-2026-80172 (CVSS 9.8) allows unauthenticated replay of captured requests to obtain ADMIN access due to missing nonce and time validation; CVE-2026-61410 (9.4) enables unauthenticated command execution via missing authorization; CVE-2026-80238 (9.3) involves an exposed Docker socket allowing root access and container escape. Dell urges immediate upgrades and recommends restricting management interfaces to trusted networks and rotating credentials if compromise is suspected.

cPanel LiteSpeed Web Server Vulnerability Allows Shared Server Users to Gain Root-Level Access

Critical LiteSpeed Enterprise flaw fixed in 6.3.7 lets low-privilege shared-hosting users escalate to root and bypass CageFS.

cPanel issued an urgent advisory for a critical privilege escalation in LiteSpeed Web Server Enterprise versions before 6.3.7, allowing a low-privilege shared-hosting account to gain root-level server control and bypass tenant isolation controls including CloudLinux CageFS. Root access would let attackers access other hosted sites, steal databases and credentials, deploy phishing pages, and install backdoors. Administrators are urged to upgrade to 6.3.7 immediately via lsup.sh and to review privileged account activity, cron jobs, SSH keys, and system binaries; no CVE identifier was published.

Hackers Exploit JFrog Artifactory Flaws to Bypass Authentication and Gain Admin Access

Wiz Research observes multiple attackers exploiting three JFrog Artifactory flaws, including default-configuration authentication bypass CVE-2026-82329, to gain admin access and deploy backdoors.

Attackers chain CVE-2026-42018 and CVE-2026-42016 to exchange anonymous JWTs for administrator-scoped tokens, or exploit CVE-2026-82329 directly via the registry join endpoint to obtain admin privileges under default configuration. Post-exploitation observed by Wiz includes persistent admin users created within five minutes, malicious Groovy plugins for command execution, and Rust-based backdoors dropped to /tmp, /var/tmp, and /dev/shm with C2 communications. Compromise exposes software artifacts, repository credentials, CI/CD integrations, and cluster secrets, creating supply chain risks. Fixed releases include 7.111.21, 7.117.28, 7.125.20, 7.133.29, 7.146.38, and 7.161.20.

Dell Secure Connect Gateway Vulnerabilities Allow Hackers to Gain Unauthorized Access

Dell patches three critical flaws (CVSS up to 9.8) in Secure Connect Gateway 5.0 enabling admin token replay, unauthenticated RCE, and root escalation.

Dell disclosed three critical vulnerabilities in Secure Connect Gateway 5.0 appliance and application deployments. CVE-2026-80172 (CVSS 9.8) lets unauthenticated attackers replay captured requests, which lack nonce validation and time limits, to repeatedly mint administrator access and refresh tokens. CVE-2026-61410 (9.4) is a missing-authorization flaw enabling unauthenticated remote command execution, and CVE-2026-80238 (9.3) is an exposed Docker socket allowing local privilege escalation to root and container escape. Fixes ship in appliance 5.36.00.16 and application 5.36.00.00.

CVE-2026-82429: Apache Storm Worker Launcher: Local Privilege Escalation to Root via a Time-of-Check Race in the Worker Launcher

Apache Storm's setuid-root worker-launcher re-resolves paths during recursive chown/chmod, letting local users win a race to escalate to root.

CVE-2026-82429 affects Apache Storm Worker Launcher (org.apache.storm:storm-core) versions 3.0.0 before 3.1.0, rated important. The setuid-root worker-launcher walks worker directories with FTS calling lchown and chmod on full pathnames while running with effective uid 0, and both syscalls re-resolve the path at call time. A local attacker can exploit this time-of-check race by swapping path components to gain root privileges. Fixed in version 3.1.0.

CVE-2026-82430: Apache Storm Worker Launcher: Local Privilege Escalation to Root via Container Command Files Chowned to the Tenant

Setuid-root Apache Storm worker-launcher chowns worker directory to the tenant before reading its command file, enabling local root privilege escalation.

CVE-2026-82430 affects Apache Storm Worker Launcher (org.apache.storm:storm-core) versions 3.0.0 before 3.1.0, rated important. When launching Docker or OCI workers, the setuid-root worker-launcher transfers ownership of the entire worker directory to the untrusted topology user before reading and acting on the supervisor-written command file in that directory. An untrusted tenant can tamper with the command file to achieve local privilege escalation to root. Fixed in version 3.1.0.
