CVE-2026-82437: Apache Storm Logviewer: Log Access Controls Not Enforced by Logviewer

Apache Storm Logviewer ignores logs.users and logs.groups ACLs for daemon logs, letting unauthorized users read sensitive logs.

CVE-2026-82437 (severity: moderate) affects Apache Storm Logviewer (storm-webapp) versions 3.0.0 before 3.1.0. The Logviewer offers logs.users and logs.groups settings for operators to control who may read log content, but for daemon logs the access decision combined the "this is a daemon log" flag with the authorizer result in a way that discarded the authorizer's answer. As a result, configured access controls were not enforced and unauthorized users could read daemon log content.

RelightFormer: Feed-forward Generative Transformer for Multiview Object Relighting

RelightFormer is a feed-forward generative transformer for photorealistic single- and multi-view object relighting, trained on a 90K-object dataset.

Researchers introduce RelightFormer, a feed-forward generative transformer adapted from a video foundation model that performs direct image relighting without explicit intrinsic property estimation. The architecture injects target environment maps via a latent illumination module with cross-attention and uses permutation-invariant positional encodings for unordered multi-view inputs. Training relies on the newly constructed Laval Objaverse Dataset (LOD) with 90K objects and 39K unique illuminations, and the model shows state-of-the-art quality with strong zero-shot generalization across single-view, multi-view, and novel-view relighting.

CVE-2026-82438: Apache Storm Webapp: Authenticated API Responses Exposed to Arbitrary Web Origins

Three CORS misconfigurations in Apache Storm 3.0.0 let malicious web pages from arbitrary origins read authenticated API responses.

CVE-2026-82438 (severity: important) affects Apache Storm Webapp (storm-webapp) versions 3.0.0 before 3.1.0. Three separate mechanisms allowed a web page on an unrelated origin to read responses served to authenticated users, including the Logviewer reflecting the request's Origin header in Access-Control-Allow-Origin while also sending Access-Control-Allow-Credentials. This enables a malicious site to silently exfiltrate authenticated Storm API and log data from a victim's browser session.

RenderFormer-V2: Neural Rendering with Heterogeneous Scene Primitives

RenderFormer-V2 is a transformer-based neural renderer handling caustics, volumetric scattering and out-of-distribution materials without per-scene training or specialized code.

RenderFormer-V2 is a learned transformer-based neural rendering model that models global light transport as a sequence-to-sequence transformation, handling caustics, volumetric scattering, environment lighting, textured and displaced surfaces and out-of-distribution materials. It uses a two-stage process: a view-independent stage resolving primitive-to-primitive transport, and a view-dependent stage converting the neural scene representation into pixels. Improvements include combined windowed-attention with a rendering-informed attention sink for scalability, support for heterogeneous primitives like environment maps and participating media, and a surface-reflectance-independent neural material encoding, validated across diverse scenes with extensive ablations.

Plug 'n' Pray: Agentic LLM-based Detection of Potential Log File Exposures in Third-Party Content Management System Plugins

Agentic LLM analysis validates 79 log file exposures across 62 of the 300 most-installed WordPress plugins, covering 250M+ active installations.

Researchers built an agentic LLM-based framework combining static and dynamic analysis to automatically detect insecure log files created by WordPress plugins. Scanning the 300 most-installed plugins, which account for roughly 75% of all active installations in the official ecosystem, it produced 81 findings with 79 manually reproduced across 62 plugins. Insufficiently secured log files can disclose credentials and personal data and have led to website compromises. The authors derive a taxonomy of log path and protection patterns and best practices, finding multi-layered protection often absent.

27.5KB language-agnostic WebGPU syntax highlighter

A developer released gpu-lexer, a 27.5KB language-agnostic syntax highlighter that uses a tiny WebGPU model to label code tokens in the browser.

gpu-lexer splits source into words, whitespace, and symbols, then a small WebGPU model uses local and whole-file context to assign nine token classes, working on languages never seen in training. On held-out files, 12.57% of token labels differ from Shiki, though this measures agreement with Shiki rather than objective correctness. In benchmarks against Shiki 4.4.3, Prism.js, Highlight.js, Sugar High, and Starry Night, it highlighted 10 concatenated copies of three.min.js (5.56M characters) about 10x faster on an Apple M4 Pro in Chrome 152. The author frames it as an experiment, not a grammar-equivalent highlighter.

Show HN: LLM Attention Visualization

A developer released a browser-based tool that visualizes which past tokens influence each LLM output token using aggregated, value-weighted attention scores.

A Show HN project presents a React application built on Transformers.js that renders per-token attention influence by aggregating attention weights scaled by value-vector magnitudes across all attention heads and layers. To expose internal tensors, the author instrumented the ONNX computation graph, hosted a modified model on Hugging Face, and pre-generated prompts to avoid long model downloads in the browser. Demos with a 600-million-parameter model show how verbatim copying draws heavily on source tokens and how single outputs blend information from multiple phrases.

What Matters, When? Diagnosing and Improving Conditional Visual Grounding in Visuomotor Imitation Policies

Researchers diagnose conditional visual grounding failures in visuomotor imitation policies and show targeted interventions substantially improve distractor robustness.

The paper studies why ACT-based visuomotor imitation policies fail when visually similar distractor objects or receptacles are introduced, finding sensitivity depends on both distractor type and manipulation stage. Interventions including distractor augmentation, phase-dependent attention regularization, and appearance-based visual prompting improve target selection while preserving spatial control information, with gains in simulation and on a physical UR3e. The same failure pattern is confirmed in a pretrained vision-language-action policy on a state-conditioned medical instrument-handling task.

SimpleMemVLA: A Simple but Effective Native-Video Memory for Vision-Language-Action Models

SimpleMemVLA passes full timestamped video history straight to a VLA backbone, setting state of the art on four memory benchmarks.

SimpleMemVLA is a vision-language-action model for long-horizon manipulation that removes the dedicated memory module entirely. It keeps sampled history intact and feeds it to the backbone as timestamped video, with the hidden states of a generated sub-task serving as the only channel into a standard flow-matching action head. Prefilling the shared history prefix during action execution keeps latency close to a single-frame VLA. The system sets a new state of the art on four memory benchmarks and outperforms retrieval, compression and recurrent-state mechanisms, with causal interventions confirming the policy genuinely reads its history.

Infostealer Logs Expose Replayable AI Tokens That Can Bypass MFA

Okta finds infostealer logs contain thousands of replayable AI session tokens and API keys, letting criminals bypass MFA and access services from Google, Anthropic and OpenAI.

Okta analyzed a 7 GB infostealer dump from August 2, 2026 covering 5,871 infected machines in 162 countries and found 555 of 44,791 JWTs related to AI services, plus 1,843 unexpired JWTs and JWEs (largely set by OpenAI via NextAuth.js) and 24 still-valid API keys for Google Gemini, OpenAI, Groq and OpenRouter. Valid session tokens and API keys can be replayed with anti-detect browsers like Camoufox to bypass credential and MFA checks, fueling an underground market for AI account access known as LLMjacking, where attackers rack up victims' AI compute bills. Some 17.7% of the JWTs contained plaintext PII usable for social engineering. Omni-Streaming Thinking

Omni-Streaming Thinking fixes premature cross-modal commitment in streaming omni-modal models via pending claims verified against modality-specific evidence, beating baselines by over 10%.

The paper identifies 'premature cross-modal commitment', where streaming models keep relaying early visual interpretations even after audio contradicts them. OST generates evidence-linked pending claims with future verification intervals, stores audio and visual evidence separately, and refutes claims when contradictory evidence appears. Built on a frozen Qwen3-Omni-30B-A3B-Instruct backbone with lightweight adaptation, it outperforms open baselines by more than 10% relative on five streaming and audio-visual benchmarks. On the new OST-DiagBench it reaches d-prime 2.95 versus at most 1.38 for open baselines, while reducing vision-induced auditory hallucinations.
