Hackers Can Turn AI Workflows Into Privileged Data-Stealing Proxies Without Jailbreaking Models

Noma Labs describes Workflow Identity Hijacking, where unauthenticated external requesters abuse AI workflows' privileged service accounts to exfiltrate internal data without prompt injection.

Noma Labs identified 'Workflow Identity Hijacking,' an authorization gap in enterprise AI workflows triggered via public inboxes, web forms, GitHub issues, and support systems. Attackers submit legitimate-looking requests that cause workflows to retrieve and disclose internal data using privileged service accounts or creator credentials, without any prompt injection or model misbehavior. Defenses include propagating requester identity through workflows, short-lived scoped tokens, and access-control checks before sensitive actions.

[webapps] Langflow 1.10.0 - RCE

A public proof-of-concept demonstrates remote code execution in Langflow 1.10.0, the open-source AI workflow builder.

Exploit-DB lists a remote code execution proof of concept targeting Langflow version 1.10.0. Langflow is a widely used open-source tool for building AI agent and LLM workflows. The listing does not include a CVE id or evidence of in-the-wild exploitation, but RCE in AI development tooling is relevant to teams running it in production.

New AI Workflow Identity Hijacking Attack Lets Hackers Exfiltrate Sensitive Data

Noma Labs disclosed Workflow Identity Hijacking, an AI automation flaw letting anonymous users trigger privileged data exfiltration without prompt injection or stolen credentials.

Noma Labs researcher Sasi Levi described Workflow Identity Hijacking, where AI workflows process untrusted input from low-privileged or anonymous users but execute downstream actions with the workflow creator's elevated permissions, turning the pipeline into an unauthenticated proxy. Unlike prompt injection, the model is not tricked; the flaw is a missing authorization check between the requester and the privileged actions. Noma Labs also disclosed and helped fix a similar issue in Google Workflows, and linked the problem to the earlier GitLost research on GitHub Agentic Workflows. Recommended mitigations include per-user identity propagation, least-privilege service accounts and authorization checks before every downstream action.

Intezer adds native response automation without separate SOAR

Intezer launched Workflows, native response automation inside its AI SOC, letting teams automate remediation without a separate SOAR platform.

Intezer announced Workflows, a native automation and response builder inside its AI SOC platform that lets security teams run post-investigation actions such as closing alerts, isolating hosts, and updating tickets without a separate SOAR. Workflows are created through natural language via MCP, inherit full investigation context, and are logged for audit, with per-tenant routing and customer communications aimed at MSSPs. The announcement cites Intezer's AI SOC Report 2026 finding that nearly 1% of real incidents trace back to lowest-severity alerts.

CVE-2026-86792: Apache Airflow Apache Kafka provider: Connection-editor remote code execution on the Scheduler via Kafka connection callback configuration

Apache Airflow Kafka provider 1.15.0 before 2.0.0 resolves unvalidated dotted-path strings into Python callables, enabling Scheduler RCE.

CVE-2026-86792 (moderate) affects apache-airflow-providers-apache-kafka versions 1.15.0 before 2.0.0. Dotted-path strings in a Kafka connection's extra field are resolved into Python callables via import_string with no allowlist, then invoked by the confluent-kafka client. This allows someone with Kafka connection configuration access to achieve remote code execution on the Airflow Scheduler; upgrading to 2.0.0 resolves it.

Flextype v1.0.0-alpha.3 Stored Expression Injection Enables PHP Remote Code Execution

Flextype CMS v1.0.0-alpha.3 stored expression injection exposes the mutable registry object, enabling stored PHP remote code execution.

Flextype CMS v1.0.0-alpha.3 evaluates attacker-controlled entry fields as expressions during entry retrieval when global expression processing is enabled. The expression environment exposes the application's mutable registry() object, which attackers can manipulate. Combined with the PHP entry directive, this enables stored PHP remote code execution from crafted entry content. The flaw was disclosed on the Full Disclosure mailing list on September 3, 2026.

AI supply chain risk is showing up in developer workflows first

Zentera Systems CEO says AI supply chain attacks currently hit developer workflows first, advising segmentation over tooling and citing the Phantom Raven campaign.

In an interview, Zentera Systems CEO Dr. Jaushin Lee argues that most active AI supply chain incidents target developer workflows and open-source package repositories, while poisoned model weights, compromised MCP servers, and poisoned vector stores remain largely in research and demos. He cites the active 'Phantom Raven' campaign, where attackers register AI-hallucinated package names in public repositories with malicious payloads that silently infect vibe-coding build pipelines. He recommends software-defined segmentation, semiconductor-style project enclaves with egress controls, and warns that self-hosting models without agent sandboxing leaves exposure unchanged.

When the prompt becomes the payload: A practical pen-testing guide for GenAI, LLM and RAG applications

CSO Online publishes a practical penetration-testing guide for GenAI, LLM, and RAG applications, covering prompt injection, retrieval poisoning, and tenant isolation testing.

The guide frames LLM applications as attack graphs spanning prompts, retrieval layers, vector stores, tools, identities, and downstream APIs, arguing that conventional web testing misses instruction-vs-data channel risks. It builds on OWASP prompt injection guidance (direct vs. indirect injection) and NIST's 2025 adversarial machine-learning taxonomy, noting that RAG and fine-tuning do not remove injection risk. Recommended practices include documenting trust transitions across components, using canaries and synthetic records to avoid test side effects, running multi-turn and obfuscated injection campaigns, and verifying chains from poisoned documents to observable state changes. It also details testing RAG pipelines via controlled document poisoning across metadata, OCR layers, and code comments, plus cross-tenant isolation checks on retrieved document IDs.

MIT creates method to force AI to comply with safety rules

MIT researchers published HardFlow, a method enforcing hard safety constraints on flow-matching generative models' final outputs without retraining.

MIT researchers led by Zeyang Li and Navid Azizan developed HardFlow, a trajectory-optimization method that enforces strict, non-negotiable constraints on flow-matching generative models by checking rule satisfaction only at the final generation step. Published in IEEE TPAMI, it outperformed six rival projection and guidance methods on four simulated benchmarks including D3IL robotic manipulation, Maze2D, physical process control, and image editing. All results are simulation-only, with no independent reproduction yet reported.

What researchers learned about building an LLM security workflow

Oslo and FFI researchers show structured agentic workflows lift LLM alert-triage accuracy from 0% to about 93% on malicious cases.

Researchers at the University of Oslo and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment tested GPT-5-mini, Claude 3 Haiku, Qwen3:30B, and Gemma 3:27B on alerts from the AIT Log Data Set V1.1; given only alert descriptions and log summaries, all four models correctly flagged zero percent of true-positive cases involving reconnaissance, brute-force logins, and initial access. Wrapping the same models in a workflow with constrained SQL queries over Suricata logs, an evidence summarizer, and a verdict stage with revision loops raised malicious-case accuracy to an average of 93 percent, with GPT-5-mini identifying every malicious case across 100 runs. The authors flag it as a proof-of-concept on one synthetic scenario and note models skewed conservative on benign alerts, with GPT-5-mini marking every benign case uncertain.
