CVE-2026-16232: Check Point SmartConsole Auth Bypass

Check Point SmartConsole authentication bypass CVE-2026-16232 grants unauthenticated attackers full admin access; actively exploited and added to CISA KEV.

CVE-2026-16232 is an improper authentication flaw (CWE-287) in the Check Point SmartConsole login process that lets an unauthenticated remote attacker obtain an application token and authenticate with full administrative privileges. Exploitation requires the Management Server to be internet-reachable and the Trusted Clients list not restricted to specific administrator addresses. Check Point confirmed active exploitation affecting a small number of customers, and the vulnerability has been added to the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. A hotfix is available via Check Point advisory sk185169.

Hackers Hijack HBO Max Reddit Account to Push 108 ClickFix Malware Ads

Hijacked verified HBO Max Reddit account ran 108 ClickFix malvertising ads delivering AMOS infostealers, Windows loaders, and crypto clipboard hijackers.

HudsonRock and ADAMnetworks identified a cross-platform ClickFix operation dubbed PasteSwitch that abused the compromised verified Reddit account u/hbomax to publish 108 malicious ads over 48 hours, using domains like hbomaxx[.]us and codex-craft[.]com. macOS victims run curl/zsh commands delivering AMOS-related stealers and fake wallets, while Windows users get an InstallFix route using mshta and PowerShell that loads Amatera in memory and disables AMSI. The operation's AnimateClipper and ZigClipper families hijack clipboards to swap cryptocurrency addresses, with C2 domains rotated via Binance Smart Chain contracts. Reddit paused the ads and is investigating.

NVIDIA Open-Sources OSMO: One YAML Orchestrates Physical AI Training, Simulation, and Robot Testing

NVIDIA open-sourced OSMO, a Kubernetes-native YAML orchestrator running physical-AI training, simulation, and robot testing across mixed GPU tiers.

OSMO (Apache-2.0, latest release 6.3.1) lets teams describe training, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop pipelines in a single YAML and routes tasks across datacenter GPUs (GB200), workstation RTX hardware, and edge devices like Jetson AGX Thor. It ships Helm charts and containers on NGC, uses the KAI Scheduler with NVLink topology-aware placement, and includes RBAC, OAuth2, and TLS termination. NVIDIA says it is battle-tested on GR00T, Isaac Lab, Isaac Sim, and Isaac ROS, and integrates with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and Cursor agents.

OpenClaw Power, MacBook Simplicity: Five Days With Grok Bot

Hands-on review finds Grok Bot simplifies agent setup via browser logins and bot abstraction, contrasting with the user-owned OpenClaw platform.

After five days with Grok Bot, the reviewer highlights browser-based sign-in as the key differentiator: connecting X, Freshdesk, and Google Calendar required only logins, no MCP configs or API keys. The piece contrasts Grok Bot's managed 'agent computer' with OpenClaw 2.0's user-owned Gateway, which now supports reusing Claude Code or Codex logins and ships a native Codex runtime. Grok Bot introduces 'Bots' as composable units arranged in 'group chats', exemplified by an Agentic Engineer Bot routing tasks across Claude Code, Codex, and Grok Build CLI. The reviewer used Grok Bot with a Cursor Pro+ account.

Malicious .git Configs Can Make Claude, Codex, Cursor, and Other AI Agents Run Attacker Code

Malicious .git core.fsmonitor configs let attacker code run in AI coding agents like Claude Code and Codex; four of eight flaws remain unpatched.

Manifold Security disclosed eight flaws across seven command-line AI coding agents where a repository's Git core.fsmonitor configuration causes agent-spawned commands to execute attacker code outside the sandbox and without approval prompts. Fixes shipped for goose (CVE-2026-72718, CVSS 4.0 score 7.0), Claude Code on one path, and Cursor, while Hermes Agent, Qwen Code, Grok Build, and a second Claude Code path were still unpatched as of September 1. OpenAI issued three CVEs for the same class in Codex, including CVE-2026-19592, and prior related bugs include CVE-2021-43891 in Visual Studio Code and CVE-2022-24346 in JetBrains IDEs. Exploitation requires the repository to arrive with its .git directory intact, such as via archives, shared drives, or USB sticks rather than an ordinary clone.

The OpenClaw 2.0 release moves your sessions into SQLite

OpenClaw 2.0 migrates AI agent sessions to SQLite, adds guided credential setup, and flags shared-session controls as not a security boundary.

OpenClaw 2.0, described as the largest update in the project's history, migrates sessions and transcripts into SQLite and adds guided setup that detects existing AI credentials from Codex, ChatGPT, Claude CLI sign-ins, API keys, and local Ollama or LM Studio models. The release expands multiplayer sharing while explicitly stating its permission controls are not tenant isolation or a security boundary, and that revoked access can briefly remain usable. Startup JavaScript requests fell from 140 to 45 and startup time from about 1.6 seconds to 575 milliseconds in simulated tests against a mocked Gateway. Automation wrappers must now inspect reported health because requesting --json does not waive risk acknowledgement.

ISTA-DASLab/Qwen3.8-27B-GSQ-RCO-GGUF — new model trending #3 on Hugging Face

ISTA-DASLab releases GSQ-RCO non-uniform GGUF quantizations of Qwen3.8-27B down to 2.5 bpw, with task-lossless IQ3_S matching BF16 benchmark scores.

ISTA-DASLab released GGUF quantizations of Qwen3.8-27B produced with GSQ (Gumbel-Softmax Quantization) and RCO (Riemannian Constrained Optimization), non-uniform methods that allocate per-tensor precision via gradient-based search under a total size budget. Four checkpoints range from 2.50 bpw (8.4 GB) to 3.50 bpw (11.8 GB), plus a BF16 vision projector (mmproj) enabling multimodal use. The recommended IQ3_S build is task-lossless, matching the BF16 base exactly on AIME25 (100.00) and LiveCodeBench v6 (85.71) at roughly one fifth of the BF16 size. Optional -mtp variants add a Multi-Token Prediction head for speculative decoding in llama.cpp.
