MapLibre Vulnerability Exposes 2.7M Users to Zero-Click Attacks

Critical XSS CVE-2026-85061 in MapLibre GL JS enables zero-click attacks on an estimated 2.7 million users; fixed in maplibre-gl 6.4.1.

A flaw in MapLibre GL JS's DOM.sanitize() iterates a live NamedNodeMap while removing attributes, skipping malicious attributes placed adjacent to removed ones, letting event handlers like onload and ontoggle survive and execute via innerHTML in the attribution control. Tracked as CVE-2026-85061 and GHSA-jrc7-96c5-q579, the flaw affects maplibre-gl versions 6.4.0 and earlier, is rated critical under CVSS v3.1 (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N), and requires no user interaction, privileges, or authentication. Exploitation could enable session theft, unauthorized actions, phishing redirects, or map content manipulation; the patch in 6.4.1 snapshots attributes with Array.from before iterating.

Recorded Future Announces Automated Signature Creation, Accelerating Vulnerability Prioritization

Recorded Future launched Automated Signature Creation in ASI, turning new CVEs into deployable detection signatures in as little as 31 minutes.

Recorded Future announced Automated Signature Creation within its Attack Surface Intelligence product, autonomously generating production-ready detection signatures for newly surfaced vulnerabilities in as little as 31 minutes. The platform correlates an organization's internet-facing assets, live threat activity (malware, ransomware, actor intent), and vulnerability intelligence to prioritize which CVEs warrant detection. The company reports a tenfold increase in in-platform signatures and maps the capability to the four prioritization criteria in CISA's June 2026 directive on risk-based vulnerability mitigation.

14 Trojanized npm Packages Drop RedC2 4.0 Linux Backdoor With AI

Trend Micro found 14 trojanized npm calendar utilities delivering RedC2 4.0, an AI-powered cross-platform backdoor sold for $99.99.

Trend Micro's TrendAI identified 14 functional but trojanized npm packages (streak-*, kit-map-vim, map-streak-kit) that load a bundled Linux implant, the RedShell beacon of RedC2 4.0, without requiring install hooks. RedC2 4.0, sold by Red Offsec for $99.99 and advertised on Hack Forums by actor MarlboroMan in June 2026, offers shell access, credential theft, SOCKS5 proxying, in-memory execution, and an LLM-driven component called Red Agent for natural-language post-exploitation. The framework has evolved from version 2.0 in August 2025 through 4.0, with the Linux beacon introduced in the latest release.

ChatGPT’s new feature could give infostealers a map of your Mac activity

OpenAI's Computer History feature for macOS ChatGPT logs app and website activity into memories, raising prompt injection and infostealer privacy risks.

OpenAI's Computer History builds timelines of Mac activity from interaction events and macOS accessibility data, turning them into memories for ChatGPT and Codex. The feature is opt-in, requires Memories, runs only in the ChatGPT macOS desktop app, and is unavailable in the EEA, Switzerland, and the UK. Raw event files stay on-device and are deleted after 48 hours, but generated Markdown memory files are unencrypted and persist until manually deleted. OpenAI itself flagged unencrypted files and prompt injection risks, and security experts warned infostealers could use the logs as a ready-made map of someone's workday.

CVE-2026-82427: Apache Storm Nimbus: Path Traversal as the Supervisor User via Unsanitised Blobstore Map Local Name

Unsanitised topology.blobstore.map local names in Apache Storm enable path traversal writes on supervisors as the supervisor user.

CVE-2026-82427 affects Apache Storm Nimbus (org.apache.storm:storm-server) versions 3.0.0 before 3.1.0, rated important. Topology submitters can choose a local name for each blob in topology.blobstore.map, which AsyncLocalizer and Container.createBlobstoreLinks used to build paths under the topology's working directory without normalisation. Crafted names allow path traversal, letting a submitter create or overwrite files outside the intended directory on supervisors, with symlink handling also affected. Fixed in version 3.1.0.

Deepmind's AlphaGenome Atlas maps every possible DNA change in the human genome

DeepMind's AlphaGenome Atlas precomputes impact predictions for ~9 billion human DNA variants in a 1-petabyte dataset; its AVI score beats CADD in benchmarks

Google DeepMind released the AlphaGenome Atlas, precomputing functional-effect predictions for roughly 9 billion human genome variants (about 27,000 prediction values per variant) in a one-petabyte dataset more than 30 times the size of the AlphaFold database. The accompanying AlphaGenome Variant Impact Score (AVI), a small neural network combining AlphaGenome, AlphaMissense and evolutionary conservation features (18 inputs versus CADD's 150+), outperformed existing tools on clinically classified variants, ranking causal variants in the top 50 candidates for 29.5% of solved GREGoR cases versus 12.5% for CADD. A GREGoR epilepsy case illustrates the impact: AVI elevated a previously unclear DNM1 splice variant that lab experiments confirmed as likely disease-causing. The atlas is available for noncommercial use via web portal, API and a Google Antigravity skill, with a commercial version planned through Google Cloud.

Reflectiz Launches Agentic Pentesting for Websites: Up to 10x Coverage vs Conventional Pentests

Reflectiz launched a multi-agent AI penetration testing platform for websites, claiming up to 10x more coverage than conventional pentests.

Reflectiz, a continuous web exposure management vendor, launched a multi-agent penetration testing platform for websites under a new Offensive Hub. Four specialized agents crawl the site like a real user, fingerprint the stack, run attacks, and independently validate findings to remove false positives. The company claims up to 10x more coverage than conventional pentesting by starting from its pre-existing live model of each site. Findings integrate via REST API, CI/CD triggers and Slack, and the Atlas remediation agent guides fixes.
