AmnesiaStealer Hijacks Chromium Sessions to Give Attackers Live Browser Control on macOS
Jamf details AmnesiaStealer, a new Rust-based macOS infostealer that hijacks Chromium sessions for live attacker-controlled browser access and steals Keychain data.
Jamf Threat Labs disclosed a three-stage macOS infostealer called AmnesiaStealer distributed via a fake GitHub download page using a ClickFix-style lure that tricks users into pasting a Base64 command into Terminal. The Rust payload harvests the Keychain, Apple Notes, Telegram sessions, Safari cookies, and 16 Chromium-family browsers, and captures the system password via a native prompt validated with dscl. A remotely fetched stream_module gives operators hidden, interactive browser control via the Chrome DevTools Protocol, streaming a live session at roughly 3fps. It persists via a root LaunchDaemon impersonating Apple's crash reporter and leverages the TCC bypass CVE-2020-9771 against macOS Catalina.
Critical Issabel PBX Command Execution Vulnerability Exploited in the Wild
Unauthenticated attackers exploit CVE-2026-89026 in Issabel PBX via forged JWT tokens to run OS commands; exploitation observed since September 9.
CVE-2026-89026 (CVSS v4 9.3) stems from a hard-coded HS256 JWT signing key in Issabel Framework's pbxapi/index.php, letting unauthenticated attackers forge bearer tokens and execute OS commands through the Asterisk Manager Interface originate endpoint. Issabel Framework versions before commit b97dbaf0b71c1c36f841e672b664afbeb02773bd are affected. Shadowserver Foundation first observed exploitation on September 9, 2026, and VulnCheck added the flaw to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities database.

[AINews] Jev: a “System One Model” that only decides/classifies/routes/scores — >100x faster, >200x cheaper than small frontier LLMs
TypeSafe launches Jev, an RLCD-trained decision model claiming 20-200x faster, 40-400x cheaper classification than frontier LLMs, alongside Gemini 3.8 Live and Neon.
TypeSafe's Jev is a 'System One' decision model trained with RLCD, claiming 20-200x faster and 40-400x cheaper classification and routing than frontier LLMs with free output tokens and no hallucinated text. Google launched Gemini 3.8 Live and 3.8 Live Extended Thinking, supporting 97 languages and async tool calls, debuting #1 on Artificial Analysis' speech-to-speech index at 82.6. Periodic Labs' Neon is a ~1T-parameter XRD analysis model trained with RL on proprietary lab data using 1,300 H200s, lifting FrontierXRD success from 2.7% to 55.3% and beating GPT-6 Astra at lower inference cost.
Threat actors are coming for your AI assets to operationalize their use of AI
Google GTIG reports espionage and crime groups stealing AI models, prompts, and API credentials, plus distillation campaigns and agentic AI attack automation.
Google Threat Intelligence Group's quarterly AI Threat Tracker reports adversaries stealing proprietary models, source code, prompts, and API credentials from government, healthcare, and media targets, including China-based UNC6508 compromising clouds to run unauthorized LLM workloads. Distillation campaigns against Google's models exceeded 100 million prompts launched via thousands of stolen account credentials through proxy networks. Mandiant also observed a financially motivated actor deploy an autonomous multi-agent framework that harvested thousands of third-party credentials in under 6 hours, and a 'Recon' framework on a live C2 server managing over 23,000 stolen credentials including cloud and AI API keys.
Hackers Use Hundreds of AI Agents to Exploit PaperCut Flaws and Compromise 440 Servers Worldwide
A Russian-speaking actor used hundreds of AI agents to exploit PaperCut flaws, compromising 440 servers across 395 organizations in 48 countries.
GreyNoise's Global Observation Grid observed a Russian-speaking threat actor operating from IP 45.142.193.132 deploy hundreds of autonomous AI agents, built on OpenAI's Codex harness with a DeepSeek model, to exploit PaperCut NG/MF flaws CVE-2026-81578 (authentication bypass) and CVE-2026-82078 (unsafe reflection RCE). At least 440 servers across 395 organizations in 48 countries were compromised; the US had 98 victims and educational institutions accounted for 204. The agents paired with Mimikatz, Certipy, Rubeus, and Impacket, escalated to domain admin in 12 of 440 cases, and executed DCSync to exfiltrate the full NTDS.DIT credential database.
OpenAI Launches the Agents API in Public Beta, Putting the Codex Harness Behind One API Call
OpenAI released its Agents API in public beta, exposing the managed Codex harness with hosted or self-hosted sandboxes, MCP tools, and subagents.
The Agents API is a managed service built on the open-source Codex harness, handling context compaction, tool search, programmatic tool calling, and multi-agent orchestration. Agents run in OpenAI-hosted sandboxes, self-hosted environments, or partner sandboxes from Blaxel, Cloudflare, Daytona, DigitalOcean, E2B, Modal, Oracle, Runloop, and Vercel. Data residency is US-only and Zero Data Retention is unsupported. Examples use model gpt-6-astra; vendor-reported results include SafetyKit cutting case review cost 60% and Ciridae achieving 4x lower subagent latency.
