An Evidence-First Multi-LLM Framework for Auditable Critical-Infrastructure Dependency Modeling

Evidence-first multi-LLM framework builds auditable critical-infrastructure dependency graphs while preserving provenance and unresolved cases.

The framework constructs Infrastructure Knowledge Bases and Infrastructure Dependency Graphs from heterogeneous infrastructure documentation using multiple open-weight LLMs that independently extract candidate entities and dependencies from normalized evidence. It separates evidence verification, ontology grounding, entity resolution, dependency alignment, validation, fusion, and human review, projecting the validated IKB deterministically into the IDG without new LLM-generated knowledge. Evaluation across nine infrastructure projects shows entity recovery achieves substantially higher recall than full dependency recovery, and cross-model overlap is much lower for dependencies than entities, indicating models often produce non-overlapping candidate assertions rather than stable consensus.

Critical VMware Workstation and Fusion Flaw Lets VM Admins Execute Host Code

Broadcom patched two VMware Workstation and Fusion flaws, including critical integer overflow CVE-2026-59346 (CVSS 9.3), letting guest admins execute host code; no exploitation seen.

Broadcom released updates fixing CVE-2026-59346 (CVSS 9.3), an integer-overflow vulnerability allowing a malicious actor with local administrative privileges on a VM with a VMXNET3 adapter to execute code on the host, and CVE-2026-59347 (CVSS 8.1), a stack-based buffer overflow in HGFS allowing code execution as the host's VMX process. Both flaws affect VMware Workstation and Fusion 25H2 and 26H1, have no workarounds, and are fixed in Workstation 26H1u1 and Fusion 26H1u1. No in-the-wild exploitation has been observed, though VMware vCenter flaws CVE-2026-59309 and CVE-2026-59310, the latter suspected of China-nexus APT use, have recently breached 361 unique victim IPs across 47 countries.

ReMoMask-2: Latent Retrieval-Augmented Masked Motion Generation

ReMoMask-2 rebuilds retrieval in the generator's latent space for text-to-motion generation, achieving lowest FID on KIT-ML and SnapMoGen.

ReMoMask-2 is a retrieval-augmented text-to-motion framework that constructs its retrieval database directly in the generator's pre-quantization latent space and aligns text queries through a distilled lightweight projector, eliminating the representation gap. The framework combines Hierarchical Bidirectional Momentum contrastive learning, Semantic Spatial-Temporal Attention, and Topology Structured Masking to handle hierarchical motion structure. The retriever achieves state-of-the-art accuracy, and ReMoMask-2 attains the lowest FID on KIT-ML and SnapMoGen, with a single mask-transformer stage outperforming the previous two-stage pipeline while delivering the fastest inference.

🔬“We have foundation models for language, not for physics” — Anima Anandkumar, Bren Professor of Computing

Caltech professor Anima Anandkumar discusses Neural Operators and FourCastNet for physics modeling, arguing inductive biases beat pure token scaling.

Anima Anandkumar, Bren Professor at Caltech and co-founder of Accelerated Understanding, describes Fourier Neural Operators that learn in frequency and spherical-harmonic domains to model weather, fusion, and fluid or heat flow. Her team built FourCastNet 3, a global weather model competitive with physics-based simulations that runs on consumer-grade GPUs. She also introduced TorchLean, a framework for writing PyTorch-style networks inside the Lean proof assistant for formal verification, and was appointed to the United Nations Scientific Advisory Board. She argues physical domains resist scaling due to tiny datasets and context lengths in the hundreds of billions, so progress comes from built-in structure and physical priors.

What Fal.Con 2026 Reinforced: AI Makes Proving Exposure More Important Than Ever

Horizon3's Fal.Con 2026 recap argues AI-accelerated vulnerability discovery makes continuous attacker-based exposure validation essential for defenders.

In a Fal.Con 2026 recap, Horizon3 argues that AI is compressing the time between vulnerability discovery and exploitation, making attacker-derived evidence about real exploitability the key prioritization signal. Horizon3 announced it joined CrowdStrike's Project QuiltWorks, with NodeZero exploitability intelligence flowing into Falcon Next-Gen SIEM and Falcon Fusion SOAR workflows able to trigger NodeZero 1-Click Verify for remediation testing. The company reported running over 1,200 NodeZero demos during the show, and CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz's keynote framed AI red teaming and offense-informing-defense as central themes.

Three Critical VMware Flaws Allow Auth Bypass, Code Execution, and VM Escape

Broadcom patches three critical VMware flaws, including vCenter auth bypass CVE-2026-59309 and an ESX VM escape, urging immediate updates.

Broadcom issued emergency updates for VMware ESX, vCenter, Workstation and Fusion, fixing five flaws including CVE-2026-59309 (CVSS 9.8 authentication bypass in vCenter) and CVE-2026-59310 (CVSS 9.8 directory traversal allowing code execution). CVE-2026-47876 (CVSS 9.3) is an out-of-bounds write in the ESX VMXNET3 adapter that permits a virtual machine escape to the host. Broadcom found no evidence of exploitation, but Defused Cyber reported a spike in vCenter scanning on August 11, 2026 consistent with exploitation attempts against CVE-2026-59309 (VMSA-2026-0006). No workarounds are available.

Elementor Pro WordPress Plugin Vulnerability Exploited to Hack Sites

Attackers are actively exploiting critical file-upload flaw CVE-2026-32475 in Elementor Pro, hacking WordPress sites; Defiant has blocked over 190,000 exploit attempts since patching.

Defiant warns that attackers are exploiting CVE-2026-32475 (CVSS 9.8), an unauthenticated arbitrary file upload flaw in the Elementor Pro WordPress plugin's form submission handling, which affects all versions up to 4.2.1 and was patched in version 4.2.2 on August 19. Exploitation began immediately after the fix shipped, with Defiant blocking over 190,000 exploit attempts to date; roughly two-thirds of Elementor's 10 million installations still ran a vulnerable version as of September 4. Successful exploitation writes attacker-controlled PHP files to /wp-content/uploads/elementor/forms/ and can lead to full site compromise; administrators should check that directory for PHP files and review requests to /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php.
