CVE-2026-86792: Apache Airflow Apache Kafka provider: Connection-editor remote code execution on the Scheduler via Kafka connection callback configuration
Apache Airflow Kafka provider 1.15.0 before 2.0.0 resolves unvalidated dotted-path strings into Python callables, enabling Scheduler RCE.
CVE-2026-86792 (moderate) affects apache-airflow-providers-apache-kafka versions 1.15.0 before 2.0.0. Dotted-path strings in a Kafka connection's extra field are resolved into Python callables via import_string with no allowlist, then invoked by the confluent-kafka client. This allows someone with Kafka connection configuration access to achieve remote code execution on the Airflow Scheduler; upgrading to 2.0.0 resolves it.

A Feature-Rich Embedded NIDS with eBPF/XDP: Detector and Architecture Trade-offs
eBPF/XDP-based NIDS with Isolation Forest reaches 0.965 live F1 on DDoS replay; gRPC microservices match monolithic accuracy within 2ms overhead.
The paper presents a DDoS-focused network intrusion detection system for transport networks built with Ericsson, combining a statistical baseline with an Isolation Forest trained on flow features from GoFlowMeter, an open-source Go implementation of CICFlowMeter, plus eBPF/XDP kernel-level traffic filtering. On a Raspberry Pi 5 testbed replaying CIC-DDoS2019 as real traffic, the Isolation Forest achieves 0.965 recall/F1 live in the monolithic variant, catching low-volume attack windows the baseline misses. gRPC microservices nearly match monolithic accuracy adding under 2ms per window, while the Kafka pipeline trails by roughly nine percentage points and adds about 27ms.
Another Apache Log4j Vulnerability Is Actively Exploited in the Wild (CVE-2021
Apache Log4j 2 RCE CVE-2021-44228 is actively exploited via crafted JNDI lookups; Palo Alto Unit 42 urges upgrading to Log4j 2.17.1.
Unit 42 details CVE-2021-44228, an easily exploited remote code execution flaw in Apache Log4j 2 where attacker-supplied JNDI lookups in logged user input cause payload download and execution. Massive internet-wide scanning for unpatched systems has begun, with observed follow-on activity including information stealing, Cobalt Strike delivery, and coinmining. The recommended fix is Log4j 2.17.1, which also patches CVE-2021-45046, CVE-2021-45105, and CVE-2021-44832. Widely used Java software including Apache Struts, Solr, Druid, Flink, ElasticSearch, and Spring Boot is affected.
