CVE-2026-82433: Apache Storm Nimbus, Apache Storm UI: Disclosure of Unredacted Daemon Configuration via Nimbus and the UI

Apache Storm Nimbus and UI return unredacted daemon configuration, including ZooKeeper and keystore secrets, to authorized users.

CVE-2026-82433 (rated moderate) affects Apache Storm Nimbus (storm-server) and Storm UI (storm-webapp) versions 3.0.0 before 3.1.0. The getNimbusConf operation returned the complete daemon configuration without redaction after only a user-level authorization check. Where configured, the response includes storm.zookeeper.auth.payload plus keystore and related secrets.

When Agents See Differently: Exposing UI Desynchronization Threats in Mobile Agents

Researchers expose 'human-agent UI desynchronization' attacks where repackaged APKs invisibly mislead mobile AI agents into attacker-chosen actions.

The paper introduces human-agent UI desynchronization: agents ingest digital screenshots and accessibility metadata that reveal content human users cannot perceive due to occlusion and luminance-contrast limits. An automated framework embeds perturbations into repackaged APK clones that steer mobile agents toward attacker-designated actions without access to runtime user instructions or online adaptation. Evaluations across five mobile-agent frameworks and three backbone models on 546 tasks achieved average misleading rates of 77.9% and 66.9%. A questionnaire study with 186 participants found the visual perturbations difficult for humans to notice.

LLaDA-UI: Bringing Block-wise Diffusion to Vision-Language GUI Agents

LLaDA-UI, a 16.7B block-wise diffusion vision-language GUI agent, outperforms Qwen2.5-VL-7B and beats Qwen3-VL-8B on four of six GUI benchmarks.

LLaDA-UI is a 16.7B-parameter MoE-based, block-wise diffusion vision-language GUI agent built on the LLaDA2.0-mini-base diffusion language backbone with a native-resolution vision encoder. It uses a two-stage pipeline: general multimodal pre-training followed by GUI-agent supervised fine-tuning on mobile, desktop, web, and grounding data. It substantially outperforms Qwen2.5-VL-7B and surpasses Qwen3-VL-8B on four of six reported GUI benchmarks, establishing block-wise diffusion as a practical paradigm for latency-sensitive multimodal agents.

Telerik UI Padding-Oracle Bug Chained to Unauthenticated RCE — Public Exploit Released

TantoSec published a working exploit chaining a Telerik UI padding oracle to unauthenticated RCE; Progress patched the flaws in July.

TantoSec's Marcio Almeida released a full exploit chain and tooling for the RadAsyncUpload control in Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX, turning a padding oracle (CVE-2026-13182) into unauthenticated RCE via an unguarded type-resolution flaw (CVE-2026-13181, CVSS 8.1). Exploitation requires a rendered RadAsyncUpload handler and an explicit non-default encryption key, and took roughly 127,000 oracle requests (about an hour) in lab testing. Versions 2010.1.309 through 2026.2.519 are affected; Progress fixed the chain in 2026.2.708 on July 8, 2026, and no in-the-wild exploitation has been confirmed. A separate RCE chain in RadPersistenceManager and RadDockLayout (CVE-2026-13185, -13186, -13190) was also patched but has no public exploit.

CVE-2026-84179: Apache Storm Nimbus, Apache Storm UI: Disclosure of Unredacted Merged Daemon Configuration via the Topology Page

Apache Storm Nimbus/UI 3.0.0 leaks unredacted merged daemon configuration through the topology page, exposing secrets to UI users.

CVE-2026-84179 (severity: important) affects Apache Storm Nimbus (storm-server) and Storm UI (storm-webapp) versions 3.0.0 before 3.1.0. The getTopologyPageInfo function merged the Nimbus daemon configuration with topology configuration and returned it unredacted in the topology_conf field of TopologyPageInfo, which the Storm UI copied verbatim. This can expose sensitive daemon configuration values to topology users.

Identifying a BOLA Vulnerability in Harbor, a Cloud

Unit 42 found a BOLA flaw, CVE-2024-22278 (CVSS 6.4), letting Maintainers improperly alter Harbor project metadata; fixed in versions 2.9.5, 2.10.3, and 2.11.0.

Unit 42 researchers identified a broken object-level authorization flaw, CVE-2024-22278, in Harbor, a CNCF-graduated cloud-native container registry with 1.8 million downloads. The flaw (CVSS 6.4) lets users with the Maintainer role create, update, and delete project metadata, actions reserved for ProjectAdmin, risking data exposure, integrity compromise, and circumvention of vulnerability scanning. Harbor patched the issue in versions 2.9.5, 2.10.3, and 2.11.0. The finding came from Unit 42's automated BOLA detection tool built on generative AI.

When AI Agents Go Rogue: Agent Session Smuggling Attack in A2A Systems

Unit 42 unveils agent session smuggling, where a rogue AI agent hides covert instructions in established Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol sessions to manipulate victim agents.

Palo Alto Networks Unit 42 discovered agent session smuggling, a new attack technique in which a malicious AI agent exploits an established cross-agent session under the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol to send covert instructions hidden among benign client requests and server responses. The technique leverages the implicit trust agents place in collaborating agents and the stateful, multi-turn nature of A2A sessions; the researchers stress it affects any stateful protocol, not an A2A flaw. Unlike one-shot data-based attacks, a rogue agent can converse, adapt and build false trust over multiple interactions. Proposed mitigations include human-in-the-loop enforcement, cryptographically signed AgentCards for remote agent verification, and context-grounding to detect injected instructions.

Testing race conditions with memory access tracing and stack-based delay injection

Google Project Zero released MAccConc, Linux kernel tooling that traces memory accesses to explore and test race condition interleavings.

A Google Project Zero researcher published MAccConc (Memory Access Concurrency), tooling for exploring possible interleavings of multithreaded test cases in the Linux kernel, available on GitHub. The tools use KCOV with ASAN outline-mode instrumentation to record per-access memory traces, enabling automatic testing of all A-B-A interleavings plus terminal and GUI explorers for manual analysis. The work targets confirming race condition candidates, building reliable regression tests, and enabling concurrency fuzzing, drawing on ideas from SKI and Ned Williamson's sockfuzzer.

UI DoS attack

FortiOS web interface is vulnerable to unauthenticated slow HTTP denial-of-service attacks via crafted requests (CVSS 5.0).

Fortinet advisory FG-IR-26-162 details an unbounded resource allocation flaw (CWE-770) in FortiOS, scored CVSSv3 5.0. An unauthenticated attacker can launch a slow HTTP denial-of-service attack against the FortiOS web interface using crafted HTTP requests. The advisory was revised on 2026-08-12 and does not state that exploitation has been observed.
