Daniel Rhyne, 57, of Kansas City, Missouri, was sentenced to 32 months in prison after pleading guilty to a ransomware-style attack on his employer. As a former core infrastructure engineer at an industrial company headquartered in New Jersey, he locked more than 3,000 devices on the company network.
