Amazon releases its own Jev clone as decision models flood the web
Amazon open-sourced Strands Decider 2B, a small local model that chooses among options with confidence scores.
Amazon Web Services released Strands Decider 2B, an open-source decision model inspired by TypeSafe’s Jev and built on the Qen3.5-2B model. Instead of generating text, it selects among predefined options and returns a confidence score, and it is small enough to run locally. Marc Brooker said AWS customers wanted a cheaper, lower-latency step for agent workflows that do not always need a frontier LLM. He said a homebrew version briefly led Jevbench for its size before Strands Labs released it.
