Ando, founded by Sara Du, came out of stealth with a team messaging app meant to replace Slack for companies that want AI agents to participate as teammates rather than installed bots. Agents get identities and inboxes and can join channels, direct messages, group chats, and transcribed calls, including without being tagged. The company raised $20 million in pre-seed and seed funding from Accel, Index Ventures, and Emergence, and says it is working with mostly small customers in software, real estate, and finance across 15 countries.
