Meta detailed new AI ad-detection measures and actioned 33.2 million child-exploitation items in early 2026.
Meta described expanded detection against child sexual exploitation, including LLM checks for covert ad “signposting,” destination blocking, additional AI sweeps, a red-teaming agent, and recidivism detection. From January to June 2026 it actioned 33.2 million pieces on Facebook and Instagram, more than 97% before user reports. In India it actioned 5.3 million pieces and said it will report cases to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, alongside existing NCMEC reporting.
