Former X-Force hackers chase the offensive cyber gold rush
Ex-IBM X-Force leaders launched RemoteThreat, a $7 million AI offensive-cyber startup for vetted enterprises and government.
Former IBM X-Force Red leaders Chris Thompson and Shawn Jones launched RemoteThreat with $7 million in pre-seed funding. The company says its AI platform plans and adapts offensive operations across mission planning, command and control, implants, initial access, obfuscation, and about 1,000 tools, with optional models from OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-weight alternatives. Reported customers include a major bank, a securities exchange, a large US healthcare company, and an AI lab; access is limited to vetted enterprises, defense contractors, and US government users. RemoteThreat partnered with Talon Defense and the Nakasone Group and joined SOCOM’s SOF RACER consortium.
