Royal Navy Service Member Charged with Spying for a Foreign Country
A Royal Navy member was charged under the UK National Security Act with alleged espionage for an unnamed foreign power.
Counter Terrorism Policing London charged Teddy Young, 24, a serving Royal Navy member from Bedfordshire, with two offenses under the UK National Security Act 2023. Prosecutors allege that between November 26, 2024, and May 21, 2025, he obtained or retained protected information and prepared to disclose it to benefit a foreign power. He was arrested at home on October 6, 2026, after a May 2025 arrest, release on bail, and suspension of his security clearance. The foreign country has not been named, no successful transfer is established, and police said the case is unrelated to arrests near RAF Fairford.
