With Tabby, a former accountant is using AI to make accountants obsolete
Former accountant Ahad Ali’s startup Tabby uses AI for real-time bookkeeping aimed at small businesses.
Former accountant Ahad Ali is building Tabby, an AI bookkeeping product that imports live account data through Plaid and shows small businesses a real-time profit-and-loss dashboard, with a version pitched to accounting firms as an alternative to QuickBooks. Fourteen months in, Tabby reports 5,500 small-business users and about $100,000 in annual recurring revenue, with a seven-person team raising $1 million in pre-seed funding. The company is preparing Tabby Talk, a natural-language interface, and competes with QuickBooks, Sequoia-backed Rillet, and finance tools from major AI labs.
