OpenClaw, an MIT-licensed self-hostable AI agent whose Gateway connects models and chat channels like Telegram, Slack, and Discord, shipped version 2026.9.5 with 4,179 pull requests from 502 contributors. The headline Atomic Updates feature validates the next version against a private copy of the user's setup, switches over, and rolls back automatically on failure so a working agent remains available. The release also adds plugin hot reload without Gateway restarts, read-only Session Share for teammates, expanded voice-capable GPT Live for Meet, Teams, and Zoom meetings, conversation archiving to cold storage after 30 days, and guided specialist-agent setup. The update requires Node 24.16+ or 26.1+, changes the conversation database even with archiving off, and rollback cannot undo database migrations.
