Thousands of wind and solar park systems sit exposed on the internet across Europe
Modat and NCSC-NL found 8,547 internet-reachable wind and solar control systems across Europe.
Modat and the Dutch NCSC found 8,547 internet-facing systems at wind farms and solar parks across 35 countries that should not be reachable online. Solar sites account for 7,942 systems, led by Spain (2,766), Greece (1,860), Italy (753) and Germany (672). Wind accounts for 605 systems, mostly in Germany and Italy, and some interfaces expose live turbine controls and Siemens ET 200SP PLC pages. The authors say operators should remove admin interfaces from the internet, and they tie the finding to NIS2 management duties.
