Cloudflare Containers, rebuilt to scale agent sandboxes
Cloudflare Containers now start agent sandboxes about six times faster, with runtime image choice and filesystem snapshots.
Cloudflare rearchitected Containers for on-demand agent sandboxes. A durable_object scheduling policy lets application code choose the image and instance type when a sandbox starts, instead of locking both in at deploy time. In ComputeSDK’s benchmark, median startup fell from just over four seconds to 648 milliseconds, and Cloudflare says burst tests created hundreds of thousands of containers in seconds. Filesystem snapshots are in public beta so workspaces can be saved and restored, with each container still controlled by a Durable Object.
