Vani ships a preview coding agent extension for VS Code
Original title: Vani Code Agent for VS Code is here
The free Marketplace extension shows file edits as diffs and runs commands only after approval.
Vani released Vani Code Agent, a Visual Studio Code extension backed by the Vani API and billed through the user's API key. It chats about a project, reads and edits files, fetches pages with consent, and stores chats per workspace. The default mode is Ask, and protected paths include .env, .git, and CI workflows. Desktop, CLI, and mobile apps are planned but not yet available.
- It requires VS Code 1.93 or later and extension AhuraSense.vani-code.
- The API key stays in VS Code secret storage and is sent only to the Vani API.
- Approval modes are Ask, Accept edits, and Plan.
- Ctrl+Alt+V opens the agent; Ctrl+Alt+N starts a new chat.
