AI-native compliance and security startup Comp AI today announced raising $34 million in a Series A funding round that brings the total raised by the company to over $36 million.
Founded in January 2025, Florida-based Comp AI has built a governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) automation platform that relies on AI to reduce manual work and help organizations keep pace with evolving requirements.
The increasing adoption of AI across enterprise environments is prompting a change in compliance management, and agentic AI enables organizations to perform validation without ongoing human intervention.
Taking advantage of the shift, Comp AI is leveraging organizational context and AI to automate a broad range of processes, including onboarding, evidence gathering, policy generation, control monitoring, and assessment.
As organizations are using AI to create, ship, and update software faster, Comp AI plans to use the new funding to expand its platform into continuous cybersecurity, with real-time monitoring and control validation across applications and infrastructure.
The fresh funding round, led by Roo Capital and Grand Ventures, will allow the startup to accelerate the expansion and hire new talent across customer success, engineering, marketing, operations, product, and sales, both in Miami and New York.

“The first generation of compliance software proved this process could be automated. Agentic AI lets us go much further. Security software shouldn’t just track the work. It should understand the business, perform the work, and act as risk changes,” Comp AI CEO and co-founder Lewis Carhart said.
“We started by making compliance dramatically faster and less resource-intensive. Now we’re building toward a platform to proactively identify, validate, and act on risk in real time,” Carhart added.
