Feyospace-v1: How the Cyber Mercury Seven Trained Frontier Cyber Models

In evaluations with 10 off-the-shelf LLMs, best-per-task scores range from 0.88 to 1.00, and open-source 20-35B backends such as Qwen3.6:35B match commercial APIs on most tasks. End-to-end chaining retains 83% (commercial) and 78% (open) of seed queries, beats Scenario Factory 2.0 on executable generation, and cost-tuning lifts planner success from 50.4% to 70.2% while cutting collisions from 19.0% to 8.4%.

Decomposition Buys Integrity, Not Yield

Study of 600 production deep-research traces finds agent-tree decomposition loses findings at rate N^(1-δ); flat architectures maximize yield.

The paper models multi-agent decomposition as a tree where an agent holding b items retains each with probability r(b); with r(b)=1/b every tree delivers exactly one finding regardless of shape. Analysis of 600 production deep-research traces estimates delta=0.34 retention decay, and 1,012 annotated traces show one brief in sixteen goes off-target per tier, giving an alignment penalty of 0.536. Depth still cuts root context exposure from N to N^(1/k) and is cheaper at scale, with a hazard model over 743,819 production tool calls showing delegation is an opening move rather than a response to filling context.

Ask Before You Optimize: Dynamic Pre-Formulation Clarification for Interactive Optimization

Researchers release OR-Clarify, a benchmark testing whether LLM agents ask clarifying questions before formulating optimization models from incomplete requests.

OR-Clarify evaluates pre-formulation clarification in operations research: each task gives a partial problem description, withholds structured hidden slots, and scores agents via bounded interaction with a simulated user, measuring slot recovery, stopping behavior, silent assumptions, and interaction cost. The authors also propose InterOPT, a two-stage framework that identifies formulation-critical gaps to decide when to ask or stop. In choice-based experiments InterOPT substantially outperforms all baselines in exact slot recovery and remains competitive in the open-ended setting.

xDailyBench: Benchmarking LLMs on Professional Consultation for Real-Life Problems

xDailyBench tests 11 frontier LLMs on 248 real-life consultation tasks; the best models score 75.6% and lag on implicit requirements.

The benchmark spans 51 scenarios across personal life, white-collar work, learning and research, and cross-domain activities, grounded in requests users actually completed or intended to complete with AI. Tasks are scored with fine-grained binary rubrics covering explicit and implicit requirements under standardized agentic settings. Across 11 frontier models, the best achieved a 75.6% task-level score, with all models performing at least 9 percentage points worse on implicit than explicit requirements.

Does Your Agent's Memory Survive a Model Upgrade? A Controlled Study of Memory Portability

A controlled study finds agent memory portability varies sharply: fixed-schema knowledge graphs survive model swaps while compressed notes degrade.

The study compares preserving an agent's history as raw long context, RAG chunks, compressed natural-language notes, or fixed-schema knowledge graphs across model upgrades, using 48 synthetic histories and two open-weight sub-10B-parameter models. Fixed-schema KG accuracy changed by only +0.0004 ± 0.0020 after a writer swap, while compressed NOTES shifted asymmetrically by +9.91 or -13.28 percentage points depending on migration direction. Mixed 50/50 embedding migrations captured only 4.96 of an 11.90-point RAG re-embedding gain; 80% of the NOTES deficit came from information lost at construction, and 81% of the RAG deficit from retrieval failures. Store-only repair of NOTES failed to reach 90% recovery in all 48 cases, while retaining raw histories enabled recovery in 34 of 48 for one direction.

Verifiable Social Reasoning for LLM Assistants

Fuse, a multi-agent simulation with hidden motives, evaluates LLM social reasoning, revealing compounding difficulty from user mediation and bias sensitivity.

Fuse is a multi-agent simulation framework in which a target agent with a hidden motive interacts with other agents including one representing the user, who consults the evaluated assistant to infer the motive, providing verifiable ground truth by construction. Simulation faithfulness is validated through a human study with 24k annotations. Applied to 12 LLMs, it shows user mediation compounds social reasoning difficulty, models are systematically sensitive to biased user framing, models may need more details than humans, and longer conversations do not always improve performance. The framework and a 21k-example dataset are open-sourced.

Google Research Releases ToolGrad: Answer-First Framework Hits 99.8% Pass Rate for Tool-Use Data Generation

Google Research and partners introduce ToolGrad, a verified tool-chain-first data generation framework reaching 99.8% pass rate and boosting Gemma-3-12B to 83.1 on BFCL.

Researchers from Google, the University of Tokyo, RIKEN AIP, and Tohoku University released ToolGrad, which inverts query-first tool-use data generation by executing and verifying API chains before annotating them with user queries. On the ToolBench database of 16,000+ APIs, ToolGrad raised generation pass rate from 63.8% to 99.8% while increasing tool uses per sample from 2.1 to 3.4 and cutting tool-use steps from 34.3 to 20.0. Fine-tuning Gemma-3 at 1B, 4B, and 12B parameters on the 500-sample ToolGrad-500 dataset lifted ToolGrad-12B to 83.1 on the Berkeley Function Calling Leaderboard, near Gemini 2.5 Pro at 83.2 and ahead of GPT-5 at 74.4. Code is Apache-2.0, with the dataset, PyPI package, and models available on Hugging Face.

The AI ‘Ghosts’ Contaminating Academic Publishing

Samsung and University of Warsaw researchers find LLMs repeatedly generate the same fake author names, contaminating academic records with 1,655 ghost-authored DOIs.

A preprint from Samsung and the University of Warsaw, "The Ghost Couple: Correlated LLM Name Priors and Their Haunting of the Web and Academic Publishing," shows that LLMs such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini repeatedly generate the same fictional names like Elena Vasquez, Marcus Chen, and Aris Thorne as experts and co-authors. Researchers identified 1,655 ghost-authored records on CERN-operated Zenodo carrying real DataCite DOIs, fabricated journals, and backdated publication dates. Ghost names also form synthetic research groups on ResearchGate and are indexed without verification by Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar. The researchers suggest correlated name priors could serve as provenance signals for detecting AI-generated content.
