Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Ihor Klymenko, former National Police head, interior minister, and NSDC secretary, to lead the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center (NCCC). The NCCC, created in 2016 under the National Security and Defense Council, coordinates government agencies' responses to major cyberthreats including Russian operations. The appointment comes amid a wider reshuffle of Ukraine's defense and security leadership.

Cyber Command turns to veteran of intelligence agencies for top AI role

US Cyber Command appoints Rear Adm. Ronzelle Green as chief AI officer as its AI budget grows from $5M to $138M.

US Cyber Command has named Ronzelle Green, previously head of research and development at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, as its new Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, replacing Brig. Gen. Reid Novotny. The command's 'AI for Cyber Operations' budget request grew from $5 million in fiscal 2026 to $138 million in fiscal 2027, aiming to let cyber operators process data and respond to threats faster than humans alone. Sources say Green's priority will be consolidating fragmented AI pilot programs across the organization, in contrast to the NSA's more established Artificial Intelligence Security Center created in 2023.

Leaked Bauman Moscow State Technical University files reveal a hidden GRU training pipeline feeding APT28 and Sandworm units.

More than 2,000 leaked Bauman Moscow State Technical University documents show that Department No. 4, a hidden program inside the Military Training Center, trained roughly 250 career and reserve students for GRU cyber and intelligence roles across six academic years. Graduates were linked to Military Unit 26165 (APT28), Unit 74455 (Sandworm/APT44) and Unit 29155, and former Unit 26165 commander Viktor Netyksho was involved in department oversight. Reporting by The Insider, The Guardian, Le Monde, Der Spiegel and other outlets, with independent analysis by DomainTools, estimates 10-15 students annually were selected for GRU-related assignments before graduating.
