CanvasAnneal: Curriculum Reinforcement Learning for Diffusion Language Models

CanvasAnneal injects teacher reasoning traces into diffusion canvases during curriculum RL, improving diffusion LLMs on MATH500, Countdown, and Tau2.

CanvasAnneal is a curriculum-guided reinforcement learning framework for diffusion language models that addresses exploration bottlenecks in standard RL. It warm-starts exploration by injecting teacher-generated reasoning traces into the initial diffusion canvas, then gradually removes this guidance so the model generates reasoning trajectories independently. Across mathematical reasoning and tool-use benchmarks, it improves over standard diffu-GRPO on MATH500, Countdown, and Tau2 and accelerates reward improvement, though gains are task-dependent.

CIA official touts agency’s Cyber Mission Center in capture of Venezuela’s Maduro

CIA deputy director credits the Cyber Mission Center's cyber operations for the intelligence picture behind Nicolás Maduro's capture.

CIA Deputy Director Michael Ellis said at the Billington Cybersecurity Summit that cyber operations built the 'flawless intelligence picture' enabling US special forces to locate Nicolás Maduro in his Caracas bunker and apprehend him within four minutes of landing during January's Operation Absolute Resolve. Director John Ratcliffe elevated the Center for Cyber Intelligence to a standalone mission center, which Ellis said smooths reporting chains and aligns resources. Ellis also said AI will 'permeate' every aspect of intelligence work, with human-in-the-loop safeguards and multi-vendor approaches to avoid model lock-in. The US has unsealed narcoterrorism charges against Maduro and his wife, who are seeking dismissal under immunity claims.

LimiX-2: A Contextual Mechanism Network Towards General Structured-Data Intelligence

LimiX-2, a tabular foundation model built on Contextual Mechanism Networks, outperforms existing tabular models on TabArena, TALENT, and BCCO.

Researchers introduced LimiX-2, a new model in the LimiX family that adopts the Contextual Mechanism Networks (CMNs) paradigm and is pretrained with Context-Conditional Masked Modeling (CCMM) on synthetic datasets generated by structural causal models. Unlike tabular PFNs centered on p(y | x, D_context), CMNs learn mechanism-oriented joint modeling of p(x, y | D_context). Evaluations on TabArena, TALENT, and BCCO show LimiX-2 outperforms current dataset-specific models and tabular foundation models. Its feature attention also encodes direct causal relationships, enabling accurate causal skeleton recovery.
