Dynin-Robotics: Omnimodal Unified Diffusion Vision-Language-Action Model

Dynin-Robotics omnimodal diffusion vision-language-action model unifies action, dynamics, and goal prediction, reaching 78.4% success on Franka tasks.

Dynin-Robotics builds a shared trajectory model on the Dynin-Omni omnimodal masked-diffusion backbone, representing language, observations, goals, and actions as discrete tokens. One model learns action prediction, action-conditioned next-observation prediction, terminal goal-state prediction, and trajectory-to-instruction reconstruction, enabling test-time scaling through goal prediction and joint refinement. It is continually pretrained on approximately 1.33 million trajectories from 48 Open X-Embodiment datasets and achieves competitive performance on LIBERO and zero-shot LIBERO-Plus plus a 78.4% average success rate across four manipulation conditions on a Franka Research 3 robot. An optimized block-parallel implementation accelerates model-side action decoding by up to 29.2x.

France’s tax authority admits hackers made off with data on 678,000 individuals

An attacker used stolen credentials and an MFA bypass to steal tax data on 678,000 individuals from France's tax authority DGFiP.

France's General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP) disclosed that intrusions into its portals exposed tax data, including reference tax income, family quotient, withholding tax rate, and business identifiers such as company name and SIREN number, on 678,000 individuals and professionals. An attacker using the alias 'ZeroBytes' claimed credit on a cybercrime forum and offered a stolen database for sale, claiming the portal contains data on roughly 20 million citizens. DGFiP suspended the affected accounts, notified the CNIL, and is working with ANSSI and the finance ministry's security office; it said the main online tax portals and their login credentials were not compromised.

PLC-DPO: Posterior Label Correction in Noisy and Ambiguous Preference Optimization

PLC-DPO corrects noisy preference labels during DPO by routing each pair as clean, flip, or tie using calibrated policy-reference margins.

PLC-DPO addresses reversed, weak, or ambiguous preference labels in Direct Preference Optimization by using the calibrated policy-reference margin as online evidence to route each pair's training signal as clean, flip, or tie. This actively corrects supervision direction and strength rather than only filtering suspicious examples. Across 57 dataset-model-benchmark cells, PLC-DPO achieves the best mean win rate of 60.5 versus 55.5 for the next-best method. Injected-noise and tie stress tests plus human disagreement analysis show the routing stays stable and distinguishes flipped from weakly directional pairs.

France investigates tax authority breach after hacker claims 600,000 victims

France's tax authority DGFiP confirmed hackers extracted data on individuals and businesses; a hacker claims more than 600,000 victims.

France's Economy Ministry said an attacker gained unauthorized access to DGFiP systems in late June by stealing or misusing someone's identity, viewed and extracted data, and was cut off after detection. A hacker using the alias ZeroBytes claimed via FrenchBreaches to have taken data on over 600,000 people, including names, tax identification numbers, emails, family circumstances and tax status; the claim is unverified. The DGFiP will notify affected individuals, report to France's data protection authority and file a criminal complaint. It follows other 2026 breaches at ANTS, the Education Ministry and the National Bank Accounts File.

Sophisticated Cyberattack Exposes Data of 678,000 French Taxpayers

Hackers stole personal and tax data of 678,000 individuals and businesses from France's tax agency DGFiP, prompting a Paris criminal investigation.

France's Directorate-General for Public Finances (DGFiP) confirmed a sophisticated cyberattack exposed data on 678,000 users of the tax system, including income figures, tax rates and family circumstances for individuals and SIREN registration data for businesses. The Paris prosecutor's cybercrime unit opened a probe and referred it to the French anti-fraud office OFAC after a threat actor claimed the breach in late June. Officials stressed the stolen data does not grant access to secure accounts on impots.gouv.fr, and taxpayer notification begins Monday with warnings about identity theft and fraudulent follow-up requests. The incident follows recent breaches at the ANTS documents agency and the INSEE statistics authority.

Attack Chains, Not Just Attack Surfaces: Why Testing Individual Techniques Misses the Point

Filigran introduces Attack Chaining in OpenAEV to continuously simulate multi-stage attack paths, exposing gaps that isolated MITRE ATT&CK technique testing misses.

Filigran announced Attack Chaining, a new scenario type in its OpenAEV platform that links individual techniques into automated, continuously-run multi-stage attack paths, using each step's real output (credentials, tokens, open ports) to branch dynamically toward a final objective. The article cites Filigran's State of Threat Management report, in which 93% of security leaders reported a business-impacting cyberattack in the past 12 months, 88% said AI accelerates attackers, and 84% blamed siloed tools and disconnected testing. The 2025 DGFiP breach is cited as an example where individually survivable weaknesses chained into a major intrusion. The feature includes conditional chaining logic, live attack path mapping, structured findings for identifying chokepoints, and predefined scope and safety guardrails.

DPRK APTs: Ted backdoor and curlRAT target South Korean media and automotive sectors

Rapid7 uncovered a DPRK-linked Linux toolkit using a HAProxy-embedded ted backdoor, SSH keylogger, and curlRAT against South Korean media and automotive firms.

Rapid7 Labs identified a previously undocumented framework attributed with medium confidence to DPRK actors, targeting South Korean automotive and media organizations likely since early 2025. The toolkit embeds a backdoor compiled into HAProxy 2.8.12 using its filter API, plus trojanized crond, agetty, atd, sshd, and polkitd, an SSH keylogger storing credentials under /var/lib/sshd/, and a curl-based RAT with a watchdog thread. It enables remote command execution, malicious script injection into served webpages (a watering-hole loop), credential harvesting, and long-term surveillance. Hardcoded C2s are associated with APT37 via ThreatFox, and exposed groupware portals and mail servers align with Kimsuky tradecraft; the initial access vector and any CVE remain unconfirmed.

FlowBalance: Verifier-Grounded Self-Improvement from On-Policy Reasoning Experience

FlowBalance is a verifier-grounded self-improvement method that beats FlowRL on Qwen3-4B and Qwen3-8B math reasoning while improving training stability.

FlowBalance calibrates dense self-guidance scores with verifier-derived group advantages: guidance is retained on positive-advantage trajectories, reversed on negative-advantage trajectories, and disabled when rollout groups show no outcome preference. The method exponentially reweights a reference policy via trajectory balance, with guarantees including within-group contrast preservation and a minimum-change reverse-KL characterization. On mathematical reasoning it outperforms FlowRL on Qwen3-4B and Qwen3-8B, trains faster and more stably, avoids direct OPSD's response-length collapse, and shows higher correct-strategy diversity on AIME24.

You Can't Prefer Emotions You Don't Sample: Intensity Undershoot in DPO-Tuned LLMs

Study quantifies DPO-tuned LLMs undershooting requested emotional intensity, tracing the gap to candidate-pool extremity rather than conditioning format.

Conditioning an instruction-tuned LLM on continuous valence-arousal targets yields gain of only 0.26 for valence and 0.13 for arousal on Llama-3.1-8B, far below faithful control of 1.0. The authors attribute undershoot to neutral-heavy preference corpora like EmoBank and candidate pools lacking extreme affect, leaving DPO without extreme exemplars. Uniform target coverage with a hotter candidate pool raises valence gain to 0.40 on Llama-3.1-8B and 0.44 on Qwen3-8B, with modest in-distribution cost; arousal gains remain unstable across seeds.

ThinkPrior: Zero-Rollout Difficulty Priors for Cold-Start Prompt Selection in RLVR

ThinkPrior builds zero-rollout difficulty priors via an offline verifier-anchored pass, halving silent groups in RLVR and cutting wasted rollouts on Qwen2.5-Math-7B.

In GRPO-based RLVR, groups where all rollouts are correct or all are wrong yield zero advantages and consume about 39% of a run's rollouts under uniform sampling. ThinkPrior initializes a Beta posterior from an external anchor pass's verifier-scored pass rate, selecting prompts by expected learnability before any target-policy rollout, without changing the loss or optimizer. On Qwen2.5-Math-7B across sixteen seeds it more than halves early silent groups and cuts wasted rollouts through step 30 by nearly a fifth, with no detected final-accuracy difference. The ThinkPrior+DAPO composition reduces generated rollouts by 10.6% at an equal 3,840-rollout update budget.

Target leakage, not model class, explains reported accuracy in survey-based cardiovascular screening: a leakage-tiered audit of glass-box and tabular foundation models

Audits of 10 classifiers on BRFSS show target leakage, not model class, drives the reported 0.89 AUROC in survey-based cardiovascular screening.

The study benchmarks ten model classes, including glass-box and tabular foundation models, for prevalent myocardial infarction on 442,067 respondents of the 2022 BRFSS across five feature tiers of decreasing leakage risk. Removing two post-diagnostic features costs every model 0.049-0.051 AUROC and collapses performance into a 0.0045-wide band, and the explainable boosting machine matches all alternatives within 0.005 while scoring roughly 104x faster than the strongest foundation model. Frozen models transport within 0.002 AUROC to 2023 data; the authors conclude evaluation practice and feature sets, not model capacity, are the binding constraint.

Structural Jailbreaks Generalize but Do Not Compound: A cross-provider and multilingual study of Involuntary In-Context Learning

Researchers show IICL structural jailbreaks generalize to Google Gemini, lifting attack success to 80-100% on harm and financial benchmarks; non-English prompts attenuate it.

The study red-teams two Google Gemini models with Involuntary In-Context Learning (IICL), a structural jailbreak reframing harmful requests as the final cell of a data-labeling task. Against a compounding hypothesis, forcing IICL output into Spanish, Hindi, or Arabic attenuates the attack in 11 of 12 conditions, attributed to a 'relevance curse' producing lower-quality harmful content in lower-resource languages. Findings replicate under an independent non-Google judge (Cohen's kappa 0.86 over 377 paired verdicts).
