UK cyber bill targets AI users, not the vendors building it

UK ministers rejected Lords amendments that would have brought AI vendors into the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill's scope.

Cybersecurity minister Baroness Lloyd of Effra told the Grand Committee that regulating frontier AI developers through the UK Cyber Security and Resilience Bill would not prevent misuse by hostile actors, pointing instead to the AI Security Institute and the voluntary AI Cyber Security Code of Practice, which informed the ETSI EN 304 223 standard. Rejected amendments included requirements for AI vendors to demonstrate red lines such as evading human oversight, and last-resort powers to shut down a datacenter or widely deployed AI system during emergencies. The bill instead extends the NIS 2018 regime to managed service providers, datacenter operators and designated critical suppliers, imposing duties on regulated organizations rather than technology providers.

Cybersecurity job ads demanding AI skills double in a year

AI skill requirements in G7 cybersecurity job postings doubled year-over-year to 28.5%, with AI-skill roles paying a 14.9% salary premium.

Research from the AI Workforce Consortium, Cornerstone and Indeed covering April 2024 to March 2026 found that 28.5% of G7 cybersecurity job postings between October 2025 and March 2026 required AI skills, double the 14.2% a year earlier. Lightcast salary data put median advertised pay for AI-skill postings 14.9% above the overall cybersecurity median in the US. Senior-titled postings grew 65% in six months while junior titles only recently returned to growth, and a Cisco survey of 8,000 security leaders flagged hands-on AI-agent experience and technical depth as the biggest entry-level gaps.

Pornhub's Parent Company to Pay $120 Million to Settle Child Sexual Abuse Lawsuits

Pornhub parent Aylo will pay $120 million settling child sexual abuse class actions, without admitting liability, and adopt stricter content moderation commitments.

Aylo, Pornhub's parent company (formerly Mindgeek, acquired by Ethical Capital Partners in 2023), will pay $120 million to settle two 2021 class actions in California and Alabama alleging its platforms hosted child sexual abuse material in violation of federal trafficking and child imagery laws. The settlement fund begins with $25 million in 2026 followed by six annual installments. The class covers anyone under 18 appearing in content on Mindgeek-operated sites between February 12, 2011 and December 6, 2024. The deal, subject to court approval, adds commitments to age-verify models, conduct human and automated content review, and report suspected abuse material to authorities.

No vulnerabilities were found in Bedrock itself, and the built-in prompt attack Guardrail blocked the attacks when properly configured. The researchers collaborated with Amazon's security team and frame the findings as a broader prompt injection risk for LLM-based systems.
