[webapps] Langflow 1.8.4 - Path Traversal to Remote Code Execution

A path traversal to remote code execution exploit for Langflow 1.8.4, a popular LLM application builder, was published on Exploit-DB.

Exploit-DB lists a proof-of-concept exploit chaining path traversal to remote code execution in Langflow 1.8.4, an open-source tool used to build LLM applications and agents. The chain allows an attacker to write arbitrary files outside the intended directory and achieve code execution on the host. The provided text does not include a CVE identifier or reports of exploitation in the wild, but RCE in a widely deployed AI tooling product is notable for defenders.

CVE-2026-84939: Apache FreeMarker: A malformed locale may be exploitable for path traversal attacks

Apache FreeMarker CVE-2026-84939 permits path traversal via a malformed locale in template loading; fixed in FreeMarker 2.3.35.

A path traversal vulnerability in Apache FreeMarker's template loading mechanism can be triggered when an attacker controls a malformed locale value. FreeMarker 2.2.0 through 2.3.34 are affected for both the org.freemarker:freemarker and freemarker-gae artifacts, while 2.3.35 is unaffected. No exploitation or CVSS details were included in the announcement.

CVE-2026-82427: Apache Storm Nimbus: Path Traversal as the Supervisor User via Unsanitised Blobstore Map Local Name

Unsanitised topology.blobstore.map local names in Apache Storm enable path traversal writes on supervisors as the supervisor user.

CVE-2026-82427 affects Apache Storm Nimbus (org.apache.storm:storm-server) versions 3.0.0 before 3.1.0, rated important. Topology submitters can choose a local name for each blob in topology.blobstore.map, which AsyncLocalizer and Container.createBlobstoreLinks used to build paths under the topology's working directory without normalisation. Crafted names allow path traversal, letting a submitter create or overwrite files outside the intended directory on supervisors, with symlink handling also affected. Fixed in version 3.1.0.

CVE-2026-78254: Apache Ant: Path traversal in ftp and scp tasks allows arbitrary file write

Apache Ant 1.2 before 1.10.18 ftp and scp tasks allow path traversal, letting malicious servers overwrite arbitrary files (CVE-2026-78254).

CVE-2026-78254 affects Apache Ant (org.apache.ant:ant) versions 1.2 before 1.10.18 and is rated moderate. The ftp and scp tasks download files from a remote server, and a malicious server can supply relative paths that write outside the dedicated target directory, overwriting attacker-chosen files with the permissions of the user running Ant. The issue is fixed in Apache Ant 1.10.18.

Flextype v1.0.0-alpha.3 CMS registerShortcodes() Remote Code Execution via Attacker-Controlled File Inclusion

Flextype CMS v1.0.0-alpha.3 allows PHP remote code execution via path traversal in the Entries API combined with shortcode file inclusion.

Flextype CMS v1.0.0-alpha.3 exposes a remote code execution path through the interaction of the Entries API and Shortcodes::registerShortcodes(). The /api/v1/entries endpoint accepts attacker-controlled entry identifiers containing path traversal sequences, allowing PHP-containing content to be written outside the intended entries directory. A subsequent attacker-controlled path can then be included and executed as PHP. Ron E posted the disclosure to the Full Disclosure mailing list on September 3, 2026.

Progress Software security advisory (AV26-875)

Canada's Cyber Centre warns Progress Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX before 2026.3.812 is affected by path traversal and upload tampering flaws, urging updates.

The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security issued advisory AV26-875 on September 2, 2026, covering vulnerabilities in Progress Software Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX prior to version 2026.3.812. Two flaws are listed: CVE-2026-18672, a path traversal in the Telerik Web Forms RadImageEditor, and CVE-2026-19219, a DialogHandler UploadPaths tampering vulnerability. Administrators are encouraged to review the provided links and apply available updates.

Security Incident – BGP Hijacking

Attackers BGP-hijacked Softaculous' Hetzner IP block for 33 hours, obtained valid TLS certificates, and delivered a malicious Virtualizor update to some servers.

Between August 28 and 30, 2026, AS62390 (NexonHost) announced 162.55.80.0/24 via transit AS6204 (Zet.net) without authorization, diverting traffic while retaining Hetzner's AS24940 on the AS path. The attacker obtained valid Let's Encrypt certificates for virtualizor.com domains because the CA's domain validation was also routed through the hijack, so affected connections showed no TLS warnings. A malicious Virtualizor update package reached a handful of installations; routing was fully restored, and reconstruction from RIPE RIS data showed all 368 collector peers carried the hijacked route at some point with roughly 28% time-weighted diversion.

ThreatsDay: Gogs 10.0 RCE, n8n Workflow-to-RCE, $10M Reward, GLM

Hacker News ThreatsDay roundup: Defender BTR.sys driver abuse, DoJ charges 17 Mabna Institute members over IRGC-linked intrusions, Grandoreiro sideloading, OpenAI monitoring.

Check Point researchers showed Microsoft's signed Defender Boot-Time Removal driver (BTR.sys) can be repurposed as a universal kernel operation engine to bypass endpoint security without BYOVD. The DoJ charged 17 members of Iran's Mabna Institute, which on behalf of the IRGC stole over 31 TB of academic data from 144 US universities and compromised roughly 8,000 of 100,000 targeted professor accounts; the State Department offered a $10 million reward for five defendants. Separately, Acronis tracked a Grandoreiro campaign abusing DLL sideloading in the Duplicate Files Finder app across Latin America and Spain, while ErrTraffic ClickFix campaigns deliver Cruciferra (BYOVD) and Remus Stealer. OpenAI also previewed Private Safety Processing, a privacy-centric approach to monitoring model misuse without retaining customer content.

Two Unitree G1 EDU Humanoid Robot Flaws Enable Root RCE, One Starts Over Bluetooth

Researcher disclosed two root RCE chains in Unitree G1 EDU robots (CVE-2026-76639, CVE-2026-76640), one reachable via unpaired Bluetooth, with no confirmed fixed firmware.

Security researcher Olivier Laflamme disclosed two independent root remote code execution chains in the Unitree G1 EDU robot: CVE-2026-76639, a network-adjacent path through chat_go and bashrunner, and CVE-2026-76640, a Bluetooth Low Energy path that ends with a 1,050-byte buffer overflow in btgatt-server giving root on the Locomotion PC. The BLE chain also exploits a cloud authorization gap that let any valid Unitree account recover another robot's AES key, then forces the robot onto an attacker hotspot via wpa_connect.sh heredoc injection. Unitree patched the cloud ownership check in July 2026, but no confirmed fixed firmware release addresses the BLE issues; the PoC was limited to two robots in one room and no in-the-wild exploitation is reported.

Researchers Turn USB Auto-Install Into a Full SYSTEM Takeover on Windows 11

DEF CON researchers chained Windows Plug and Play auto-install abuse with third-party driver flaws to reach SYSTEM on fully updated Windows 11.

In 'Plug And Pwn' research prepared for DEF CON 34, Alejandro Hernando and Borja Martinez emulated USB devices so Windows auto-installed signed vendor software, chaining a Sierra Wireless SwiService.exe SetDNS primitive, a Sony FeliCa co-installer path-traversal flaw that writes a DLL into System32, and device reconnection for SYSTEM code execution. A remote variant over Remote Desktop forges a synthetic Intel RealSense device and abuses a CRYPTBASE.dll search-order hijack when PnP or low-level USB redirection is enabled. Microsoft notes RDP does not allow supported PnP and RemoteFX USB redirection by default, and no in-the-wild exploitation has been reported.

Hack One Robot, Reach the Next: Unitree G1 Security Flaws

Researcher chained two Unitree G1 flaws (CVE-2026-76639, CVE-2026-76640) to gain unauthenticated root access, with compromised robots able to infect others via Bluetooth.

Security researcher Olivier Laflamme chained a path-traversal file-write flaw (CVE-2026-76639) in the G1 chatbot service and a Bluetooth server buffer overflow (CVE-2026-76640) to achieve unauthenticated root access remotely. The chain abuses Unitree's cloud API as a decryption oracle for the AES-128 key that unlocks BLE and WebRTC channels, and a compromised robot can propagate the attack to nearby G1 units. Unitree patched the cloud ownership-check flaw, paid a $5,000 bounty, and firmware fixes for BLE pairing and the buffer overflow remain harder to deliver.

Researcher Publishes CrowdStrike Privilege Escalation Zero Day

Researcher NightmareEclipse published FalconFlank, a zero-day local privilege escalation in CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor abusing its Office malicious macro remediation feature.

A researcher known as Nightmare Eclipse published details of FalconFlank, a zero-day privilege escalation that abuses the Microsoft Office malicious macro removal feature in CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor, verified working on fully updated Windows 11 25H2 and Windows Server 2025 with Falcon Phase 3 Optimal Protection. CrowdStrike urged customers to disable the Office File Suspicious Macro Removal policy while it investigates, noting customers remain protected via Cloud Anti-malware for Microsoft Office Files; no CVE has been assigned. The same researcher previously released the Exploitarium dump of over 30 PoC exploits, and researcher Kevin Beaumont confirmed FalconFlank works.
