Leaked audio: Flock CEO tells police chiefs backlash is not real
October 29: 404 Media’s weekly podcast covers the leaked IACP audio, including Langley’s claim that backlash is not real and his wife’s advice never to apologize.
Leaked IACP audio shows Flock CEO Garrett Langley telling police chiefs that criticism is inorganic and bot-driven.
404 Media published leaked audio of Flock CEO Garrett Langley speaking Sunday to police chiefs at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Orlando, in a fireside chat with IACP president David Rausch. He said protests and social-media criticism of Flock’s automatic license plate readers were inorganic, blamed much of the opposition on paid posts and Russian bots without evidence, and said his wife advised him never to apologize. He claimed chatter was down about 95 percent from July and fell 50 percent overnight after a Ukraine drone strike on a Russian data center, a theory 404 Media calls disproven. He also said he would rather stop press interviews. Flock did not comment.
