OpenAI reportedly seeks $30B at $1.4T valuation
OpenAI is reportedly raising at least $30 billion at roughly a $1.4 trillion valuation ahead of a delayed IPO.
Bloomberg reported that OpenAI is in talks to raise at least $30 billion in a pre-IPO round at roughly a $1.4 trillion valuation. The company previously raised $122 billion in March at an $852 billion valuation, and run-rate revenue reportedly reached $40 billion in August after a 70% jump since July. CEO Sam Altman has ruled out a 2026 public debut to prioritize AI safety, and the new raise would bridge to a later IPO. Both accounts agree on the round size, valuation, prior financing, revenue, and IPO timing. They differ only slightly on the non-comment: one said OpenAI did not respond to a request for comment, while the other said OpenAI did not comment to TechCrunch.
