Nvidia pitches DSX POD to speed Vera Rubin data-center setup
October 22: Nvidia named power and cooling partners, cited U.S. grid backlogs, and relayed partner efficiency claims for the DSX AI Factory Platform.
Nvidia’s DSX POD and AI Factory Platform aim to cut Vera Rubin site setup and ease grid power limits, with first units due early 2027.
At GTC Berlin, Nvidia unveiled DSX POD, a reference design for factory-built containerized data centers around Vera Rubin systems. Dell, HPE, Lenovo and Schneider Electric would install compute, networking, cabling, power and liquid cooling and test them at the factory. Nvidia says setup can fall from six months to as little as 14 days, and closed-loop cooling can use up to 100 percent less water, though some climates still need extra cooling in extreme heat. On site, units only connect to power, cooling and the network of a prepared location; first units ship in early 2027. Nvidia separately says adopters use the DSX AI Factory Platform to plan and run the grid and AI factory as one system, citing more than $300 billion in backlogged equipment and over 200 gigawatts in U.S. interconnection queues.
