Cloudflare Impact Hits $100 Million and Funds Nonprofit AI
Cloudflare's Impact programs reached $100 million in donated security services and awarded more than $7.5 million in AI credits to 30 nonprofits.
Cloudflare said on Sept. 30, 2026, that its Impact programs had reached $100 million in donated cybersecurity services for journalism, civil society, governments, election bodies, and public schools. Project Galileo, launched in 2014, blocked more than 38.5 billion attacks against participants in 2025, about 105.4 million a day, and a 2026 report found those sites faced website exploit attempts at more than seven times an average customer's rate. The two posts disagree on scale: Sept. 30 said Galileo covers more than 3,500 domains in over 120 countries, while Oct. 2 said more than 3,400 domains across more than 120 countries. The Athenian Project protects election sites in 33 U.S. states and eight countries, and Cloudflare for Campaigns covers more than 530 candidate websites. On Oct. 2, Cloudflare said it chose 30 civil-society organizations for a nonprofit cohort, offering up to $250,000 each and more than $7.5 million in credits to automate securely with Workers AI and AI Gateway. Named builds include LebTown's editorial system, Kaya Guides' WhatsApp service (10,439 people supported; about 500,000 messages a month), and The Snorkelling Society's SnorkelMap.
