SonicWall NSM Bugs Let Attackers Intercept Communications and Execute Commands
SonicWall patched two high-severity NSM On-Prem bugs that can expose data and enable authenticated command execution.
Authenticated OS command injection in SonicWall NSM on-prem
CVE-2026-100232 is a post-authentication OS command injection flaw (CWE-78) in SonicWall Network Security Manager (NSM) deployed on-premises. Under specific conditions, a remote attacker who already holds high-privilege credentials can supply input that is not properly neutralized, so the product runs arbitrary operating-system commands. Successful exploitation is remote code execution on the NSM host with high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CVSS 3.1 base score 7.2; network, low complexity, high privileges required, no user interaction). Only organizations running the on-prem NSM product are in scope of the supplied description. It is not listed in CISA KEV and no public proof-of-concept is known, so exploitation is not known to be occurring in the wild.
What to do: Apply the SonicWall PSIRT fix for CVE-2026-100232 as soon as the corrected on-prem NSM release is available, and do not leave the management interface reachable from untrusted networks. Until patched, limit access to trusted administrator networks, review high-privilege accounts, and watch the NSM host for unexpected OS command activity.

Post-authentication Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection') vulnerability has been identified in the SonicWall Network Security Manager (NSM) on-prem which in specific conditions could potentially enable a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary OS commands, resulting in remote code execution.
