Regex complexity DoS in Satel Netco Design before 2.1.7
Satel Netco Design versions before v2.1.7 contain an inefficient regular-expression complexity flaw (CWE-1333). An authenticated user who already has Viewer privileges can submit crafted search input that forces excessive regex processing and can degrade application availability. Confidentiality and integrity are not affected; the impact is denial of service of the application. Only Satel Netco Design releases older than v2.1.7 are in scope. No public proof of concept is known and the CVE is not in CISA KEV.
What to do: Upgrade Satel Netco Design to v2.1.7 or later. Until then, restrict Viewer accounts to trusted users, limit search input length if the product allows it, and watch application CPU and responsiveness for searches that hang the service.
