CISA warns J4Care dcm4chee-arc-light 5.35.1 flaws can delete images and expose patient data.
Infinite-loop DoS in MP4Parser via malformed MP4 boxes
MP4Parser does not adequately check MP4 box sizes, so a malformed box can make the parser stop advancing and reprocess the same input forever (CWE-835). The flaw is reachable over the network with no privileges and no user interaction, and the impact is high availability loss only: a remote denial of service, not data theft or modification (CVSS 4.0 base 8.7). Products that parse attacker-supplied MP4 with this library are affected; related reporting names J4Care dcm4che, and no affected version ranges are given in the data. CISA KEV does not list the CVE, and no public proof-of-concept is known.
What to do: Treat untrusted MP4 input as a denial-of-service risk until the parser is patched. Apply the vendor fix for MP4Parser and any products that embed it (including J4Care dcm4che) as soon as a fixed build is published; no fixed version is named in this data. Until then, reject or sandbox MP4 from untrusted sources, cap parser CPU/time, and alert on processes that spin while repeatedly reading the same media input.

MP4Parser does not adequately validate MP4 box sizes. A malformed box can cause parsing to make no forward progress and repeatedly process the same input.
