Update Chrome and ChromeOS to fix critical security issues
Google patched Chrome and ChromeOS, including critical sandbox-escape use-after-free bugs.
On October 6, Google released stable Chrome updates: version 155.0.8059.39 for Linux and 154.0.8037.39/.40 for Windows and Mac, with Android 155.0.8059.39 rolling out gradually. The desktop release includes 247 security fixes, four rated critical. CVE-2026-106197 and CVE-2026-106358 are critical use-after-free flaws in Browser and Navigation that could let a remote attacker run code outside the sandbox via crafted HTML. CVE-2026-106240 is a high-severity type confusion in V8 that could execute code inside the sandbox. The report does not say any flaw is being exploited.
