WatchGuard discloses seven critical Fireware OS flaws enabling remote code execution
Supplied data names Fireware OS 2026.4 and 12.12.4 as fixes; this report does not establish exploitation.
Authenticated arbitrary file overwrite in WatchGuard Fireware OS CLI
A diagnostic command in WatchGuard Fireware OS lets a remote attacker who already has at least read-only Device Monitor privileges and management CLI access control file paths. A crafted command creates, truncates, or overwrites arbitrary files and changes kernel parameters as root; written content is limited to numeric values. Firewalls exposing that management CLI are affected.
What to do: Apply WatchGuard's update for CVE-2026-90464. No fixed version or workaround is stated.

An external control of file path vulnerability in a WatchGuard Fireware OS firewall diagnostic command allows a remote, authenticated attacker with at least read-only (Device Monitor) privileges and access to the management CLI to create, truncate, or overwrite arbitrary files and modify kernel parameters with root privileges by submitting a specially crafted command. Written content is limited to numeric values.
