The FBI arrested Edward Dubrovsky, a Canadian co-founder of Cypfer now associated with CyberSteward, in Pennsylvania on cyber extortion and conspiracy charges tied to the ShinyHunters investigation. Court records show an October 8 arrest and a transfer toward the Eastern District of Texas, which sources say is leading the case. ShinyHunters, which phishes and uses stolen credentials to steal SaaS data and extort victims, has taken more than $70 million this year and stole sensitive FBI recruitment data. Related arrests include Pepijn van der Stap in the Netherlands and teenager Saif Al-din Khader, known as Rey, in Jordan.
