Krea 3 – Frontier Image Model 4× faster than Nano Banana Pro

Krea launched Krea 3, an image editor it says is faster and cheaper than Nano Banana Pro.

Krea released Krea 3, an image-editing model aimed at production work such as product, brand, and layout changes. The company says an edit finishes in under eight seconds and costs about $0.06 per 2K image, compared with roughly 26.8 seconds and $0.135 for Nano Banana Pro and 39.9 seconds and $0.21 for GPT Image 2.5. It advertises regional edits, exact hex-color changes, up to eight reference images, character consistency, and native 2K output. Krea notes the side-by-side timings are pre-generated, not a live benchmark.

WorldCast: Exploring Intelligent Visual Generation in World State Prediction

WorldCast ranks 12 models on visual world-state prediction, with GPT-Image-2.5 scoring 72.8.

WorldCast is a benchmark of 320 manually designed cases across eight categories for multi-step visual world-state prediction from multimodal observations. Across 12 models, GPT-Image-2.5 System scores 72.8, Nano Banana Pro scores 42.8, and the best open-source model scores 20.1. The authors report early frontier capability but large deficits on complex context, entangled references, and reasoning-heavy tasks, and note that strong generators draw on their underlying language models.

AutoRef: Harness Optimization for Agentic Multi-Reference Image Generation

AutoRef automatically rewrites image-generation harnesses, lifting FLUX.2 klein 4B from 5.72 to 7.37 on MultiBanana.

AutoRef automatically optimizes the executable harness for agentic multi-reference image generation while keeping the generator and reasoning models frozen. A coding agent iteratively rewrites harness code, using separate tasks for proposing changes and selecting candidates and continuing from a beam of top-ranked harnesses. The resulting AutoRef-Harness raised open-weight FLUX.2 klein 4B from 5.72 to 7.37 on held-out four-reference MultiBanana tasks, matching or exceeding Nano Banana Pro and GPT-Image-1.5. Without re-optimization, the same harness also improved results when the generator, reference count, benchmark, evaluator, or reasoning model changed.
